I’m graduating this year and I’m not sure what song to use for this thing they call a senior slideshow, and I may use this. Ive actually hated my entire time in high school and I’m ready to leave this place and start my own life as my own person in college and not just one of the students that’s in the crowd

Graduation is in a month...

I just sang this for my youngest son who just graduated from Pitt. I thought I sung it at my high school graduation in 1969. I searched for the song and discovered that the Beach Boys did it. What a surprise!

This brings a lump to my throat. In '64, when I 1st saw The Boys, they did this acapella. It was magic. --------------------WolfSky9

Nice tribute to the Four Freshmen, who already partly sang as the BB later did, with semi-falsetto vocals.

When they did this one and "In My Room", they had me...especially since in my first band I was primarily a b/g singer taking the 4th or 5th part. Ironically, when I was a member of the Elvin Bishop Group much later in life and after my military service in "Nam"....we had the honor of playing on the same bill with the Beachboys at a Day on the Green....!@ the Oakland Coliseum...
.....Life is funny sometimes....and sometimes almost unreal in its twists and turns... I've been very blessed, too...

In the same league: as a kid I always was fascinated by a Corgi car I had, called the Chevrolet Astro 1 Experimental Car. Today, thanks to the internet, I'm in contact with the designer of that car... If the little kid in the 1970's would have known that...

My only daughter, whom I am so very proud of is  graduating this Sunday from St. Bonaventure University. I proudly dedicate  this classic song to her and her 3 room mates of the last 4 years. We are proud of each of you!

Yup. But the Freshman were a product of our parents. It took the BB's to bring it into the sixties and beyond.

@tiffsaver Agreed ! It's a bit like the Nouvelle Vague (new wave) French cinema made mashed potatoes of the old fascioned cinema in the same period. It is definetely a pivotal era. The end of Eisenhower, and in stepped a young and (relatively) fresh Kennedy.

Wow looking at this pic three of the five Beach Boys here are currently on the 50th anniversary tour. The two you see standing in the middle are the ones who are dead! RIP Dennis and Carl!!!!
