To this day I regret not choosing this song as the one that my bride and I first danced to on our wedding day. It's such a great song and it just encapsulated everything I wanted to say at the time.

Favorite song of stalker ex bfs.

Always a Beach Boy fan and this album gets a B grade from me. The right name should be Animal Sounds based on the album jacket pics. Very few people have pets with the animals shown.
I went to many concerts in the sixties. The "Boys" were the most polished of all the groups, many of them were incoherent in a major park or venue....but these guys could play some tunes.....and harmonize like very few with all the octaves they hit.
The were the best!!

It still sounds so clean.

A great album, for sure; even on the level of Beatles' "Rubber Soul" album! I own 2 Pet Sounds albums because I play it so much. However, there's one BIG difference: The Beatles played all the instruments on their RS album. Not so for the BB album. To reduce costs and ensure perfection, producers contracted members of the famed studio "Wrecking Crew" to get this album done efficiently. Note the phenomenal studio performers of the 1960s below:

Can anybody tell me why this song doesn't have half a billion views?! It's instantly recognized by music experts as one of THE all time greats, as is Pet Sounds but yet.

I'm at a point in my life where I'm over emotional and very in tune with the frequencies that music vibrates outwardly. This song does it for me in so many ways. I think about my first memories of being a child... Running outside and playing in the summer to tasting the first hint of puppy love as a teenager to my first broken heart. This song is so fucking beautiful. (Love from West Texas 💙)

Avenged Sevenfold has a more sadder/darker sound to their cover of this song and it's amazing. This original version is uppity in a way but it has its own style to it, just like A7X has their own style to the cover.

To say that this is not one of the greatest records of all time, is a massive understatement. It is timeless, beautiful melodies and harmonies, an absolute masterpiece by Brian Wilson. How this never got to No.1 is beyond me, this is just perfect. God Only Knows got to No.2 on 25 August 1966 and was the UK's No.16 of 1966. This is a timeless masterpiece, it will be still be played for years and years to come.
