B.B. King - Crying Won't Help You Lyrics

Oh no matter what you say baby
No matter what you do
The way you've been treating me woman
Is coming back home to you
And your crying won't help you woman
Oh, crying won't help you baby
Oh, crying won't help you woman
'Cause you've been so mean to me

Oh, you must remember baby
No matter where you go
Watch those seeds just scatter woman
Because you're gonna reap just what you sow
And your crying won't help you woman
Oh, crying won't help you now
Oh, crying won't help you baby
'Cause you been so mean to me

Oh, the way you've been treating me woman
Just can't understand
Oh, I'm gonna leave you woman
Let you do the best you can
And your crying won't help you woman
Oh, crying won't help you now
Oh, crying won't help you woman
'Cause you been so mean to me
Look out!

Oh, just before I leave you woman
Just before I shake your hand
I'm gonna get me a woman baby
Not to get your mad
And your crying won't help you woman
Oh, crying won't help you now
Oh, crying won't help you baby
'Cause you been so mean to me

Crying won't help me either, but I do so miss BB! To me he was The Blues incarnated...

The 1950's recordings by BB, on Modern/RPM records, such as this one, were and are the quintessential BB King. They are "the real thing".

You can say that again Bob. I love b b's early recordings on those old low budget labels back in the 50's. My personal favorite is the Kent label. That's his best work. He was young, raw and powerful. That's my boy.

    F.... J....

Lol...Buddy guy sounds like BB in his early days. BB influenced a lot of blues guys.

I first heard this 50th classic, it was on an 8-track tape (singing the blues) on the united label, in my father's Cadillac. I was only three years old at the time. And after that I been a fan every since. Love those old 1950s blues recordings by the legendary B.B. King. Rest in peace B.B. You're the greatest.

This song is sexist? If that's true, then an entire genre of American made music spanning over a hundred yrs is sexist.. I don't see how heartbreak and pure emotion and raw energy could be seen as sexist. " there ain't but one kind of blues, and that consists of love between male, and female." - son house. Life can be painful, and these songs are songs of pain, not sexism.

  20. B.... ....

THIS SONG IS SEXIST. Women are perfect, bro. I tells ya, he's not paying enough attention at home and missed out on what she would have given him.

  21. y.... ....

Hi all B.B. fans: I'm still seeking an answer to my query on this page one year ago regarding a superb alt. take of this song that was issued non an Ace LP in the 1990s.
And: does anyone know where I can find the photo of B with his 1954 Goldtop Les Paul? I first saw it in the Rolling Stone Yearbook, c 1974 (?). I should have bought a copy (what is they say about 'He who hesitates?) as I haven't seen the pic since....
Any help will be much apppreciated!
    Best wishes

    Fuckin'a that was good.

  28. K.... R....

    Hi Kozho

No offense but I don't think power chords is the right terminology...There's no rhythm guitar and the piano is subtle.

Also, this, to me, is a typical King record of this era of mid 1950s-1960 Kent label recordings. Of course, you're right about the jazzy elements in some of the orchestrations.

Anyway, I'm glad that you're enjoying this great music!
    Best wishes from the U.K.

  29. K.... R....

Yes, this is one of B's greatest recordings.

However...I used to own (on a vinyl album on the Ace label) a wonderful outtake of this: can anyone out there advise me if it has been reissued on CD? It had a false start (B says: "Sorry - I can't read my own writing again, fellas!", and at the end he says "Sorry, Maxie!" to Maxwell Davis, the arranger and conductor at the session.

I'd be obliged if anyone can help me with this query.

    Best wishes
