Shudder was the Empire Strikes Back of Bay side albums. Its obvious they felt more creative on it. Shudder is my favorite album for that reason. The two songs I've heard from the new one remind me of that but at the same time, its kinda a step back because Killing Time was kind of a step forward for them, was it not? I love bad religion who have stuck to their roots their entire existence. I like when I know what I'm gonna get sometimes. Also love AFI who evolve with every album. Don't always like it but respect it. I think this album is going to be a step back but in a good way. Bayside is doing what they do best and I like it..

Ive been a listening to them for a decade or so now and everything they put out is great. Been to a few shows and they're awesome live. I was talking to Jack before one of their shows, I told him that I have MS and it sucks that I cant stand up close while they play cause my leg hurts and that id be sitting back at the bar while they played. Jack told me I'll get you a chair stage side for you to watch the show up close!!He did and I did, awesome night, great guys!!

It's awesome that these guys are still making music, and it's nice to here Bayside rather than Anthony's solo stuff.  Definetely agree with Zach, but the cool part of these bands with "cult" followings is that now and then they show up and play free shows...gotta love these guys.

Stoked that they're supporting Alkaline Trio in the UK next year. I hadn't been paying attention recently and only just discovered "Killing Time" which was immense. Loved them for years and rediscovered that love recently - can't wait to finally see them live.

i am so excited to hear that they are putting out a new album in February! Love this song! I took my daughter to see them in Iowa City in 2012 and we drove to Des Moines in October 2013 so I'm hoping for a stop near there in 2014 to go 3 years (at least) in a row of seeing them in concert!

This is a classic Bayside song through and through. Between its clever lyrics and infectious chorus, it gets better with every listen.

I can hear a little bit of a difference between this and Killing Time's songs. You can tell they are by different record companies.

Are you kidding? Killing Time was so different from everything else they did on Victory. This song is closer in sound to Killing Time than anything off the self titled, Shudder, Sirens and Condolences or Walking Wounded. In my opinion, any different sounds in the new album are just Anthony and the band as a whole growing. I think this song sounds more like Anthony's solo work and I think that's the difference you're hearing. Unless you're talking a pure production difference in which case I can't really say much, as I can't really detect those subtle differences.

I would say that Killing Time was my least favourite,  and TWW being the most balanced record.
Production wise, i really cannot tell, I can't purchase their records in my country . And through my speakers every song with distortion is shitty

What's everyones favorite Bayside album?

I'd say my favorite is a tie between The Walking Wounded & Self-Titled. Shudder just lacked to me, not musically, but the lyrics missed something, & Bayside's never had a filler song before, but I felt like Howard was a filler. Killing Time is amazing all around, but it hasn't been around long enough to become my favorite. Sirens wasn't written by Anthony which is noticeable cus most of the album is really really emo, still good, but not his words so it's just not the same to me as the others.

Anthony wrote the music and the vocal melodies - just not the lyrics.  According to Wiki... I never knew this! and been listening to it for about 6 years lol

@Zachacki Sack I did know that! I was surprised because I thought the writing styles were so similar. 

@Ciara Badertscher I actually feel it's very different from Ant's writing. I feel like the metaphors were just very different & it was clearly a lot more emo, but Anthony did write the melodies & the music, so that could be why it still feels like his writing.
