As much as I love Shirley, I don't like this concert. She appears to be struggling vocally and that is something I would rarely say about her.

This is one of the first full concerts that Shirley gave after the death of her daughter. It took her two years to get to this point where she could perform a full concert. She attempted to come back earlier than this, but that was not a good idea, as she basically lost her voice. She went out on stage in Australia, and couldn't sing a note. With rest and recuperation, AND with the help of a classical soprano to show her where she was singing improperly, she was able to get her voice back. But, even at partial vocal strength, she still is better than most of the rest...

I have loved Shirley Bassey for as long as I can remember. She's unique and has a wonderful voice, which she dominates to perfection.
Today, I heard Dorothy Squires.
Now I know something that I didn't know before.

She's amazing !

She is what she is! Diva in her own right and in my opinion out does Barbra Streisand when it comes to so much emotion and you can really feel it when she's happy and/or sad! I could slow dance to this! Bravo Shirley I'm glad my dad introduced me to her way back in the 70s. I have perfect pitch and I'm sure as she is singing this bittersweet song there isn't a dry eye in the house.
