Baroness - Seasons Lyrics
Where are the seasons that have passed?
Wouldn't they wait?
Staring outside the window, trashed
Swimming inside me
Wouldn't they wait?
Didn't they find the way out
Living inside me?
We fall
We rise
We bend
We break
We burn but we survive
Settle in and don't forget to go to bed
You tucked your fingers away
All of the seasons that I have lost
Where did they run and hide?
Where do we go when the well runs dry?
Seasons all we know
We fall
We rise
We bend
We break
We burn, but we survive
We fall
We rise
We bend
We break
We burn, but we survive
We fall
We rise
We bend
We break
We burn, but we survive

Baroness Seasons Comments
The mix, blah blah, the mix, blah blah, the mix, blah blah. All these comments about the mix, stop listening to it on YouTube for fuck sake. Get the vinyl, get some decent speakers and crank the fuckers up. Let the neighbours enjoy it too, they deserve it. It's a truly beautiful song.
That guitar Battle was amazing!
Fuck these comments about the production, it sounds awesome.
I guess when you make complex and challenging music you invite lots of critics, despite the fact that you make music way better than mainstream music. Keep it up Baroness, love this track.
i fucking love this song
This sounds horrible. Vocals washed out and all of the lines meld together into mono. It's like listening to a bad mp3 of someone recording music through a telephone speaker.
Masterpiece.
I believe the mix is really good and suits the tone of this song. I can clearly hear every instrument with my headphones.
Hear this song live yesterday in Bogotá, Colombia was incredible!
We Charleston SC residents are so incredibly fortunate that you are from around here, John, and always make a stop at the Music Farm. Please keep coming back, you are the musical highlight of my year every time!
Finally a band who sees the value in every click of music.
Unicos muy cañeros una mezcla de la caña de nirvana pero mas elaborado con algo de soundgarden.Para mi una mezcla de grunge con almo de metal
love this song.
Ya’ll gonna upload this in better quality? Or a live recording? ❤️
Where are the seasons that have passed?
Wouldn't they wait?
They're staring outside the window crack
Swimming inside me.
Where are the shadows I have cast?
Wouldn't they wait?
Didn't they find the way out,
Living inside me?
We fall.
We rise.
We bend.
We break.
We burn but we survive.
Forget me when I'm gone.
Settle in and don't forget to go to bed.
You tucked your fingers away.
All of the seasons that I have lost,
Where did they run and hide?
Where do we go when the well runs dry,
And the seasons are all that we know?
We fall.
We rise.
We bend.
We break.
We burn but we survive.
We fall.
We rise.
We bend.
We break.
We burn but we survive.
We fall.
We rise.
We bend.
We break.
We burn but we survive.
In case you wanted to sing it properly ;)
I dont understand why everyone hates the mix.vi happen to like it. It gives it its own light, its own darkness. Its Baroness
I *think* this song is pretty good, but it's also my new paragon for illustrating the evils of the Loudness Wars. Your drum kit sounds like a washing machine at one point, and caused some second-order harmonic distortions at another. I'm not sure it's really an achievement, but it's a hell of a lot of something. Dem drums go "shuk shuk shuk" at 2:42, and holy hell I think the clipping clipped out like a clipped clipper ship at 3:36. Sweet Jebus. You ride that clipped out white noise pretty much non-stop from there to 4:15, though, so I assume it's intentional. This literally gave me a serious headache. Better luck next time.
No other band will ever have so many bitchy audio engineers as fans. _HOLY SHIT_
So much Talent <3
who thought it was a good idea to release this when it sounds like complete ass. Purple is more listenable than this.
I love these guys, but holy fuck that mixing
Great music, poor production (clipping and compression)
This is definately one of the best rhythm sections i've heard in a long time. This drummer is seriously overlooked. The stuff he plays on purple is so original. The bass player? Come on geezer jr.
Eleven on the guitar. Nice
this is their best album so far, just awesome.
Drums at 242
Funny how blast beats find their way anywhere now!
this is truly awful, they trolling?
Easily the best rythme section that has been heard in a long time. Any genre
Love this song, the mix sounds weird and irritating, but I guess they went for that on purpose and the more I listen the more I like it. I’m really enjoying the new album, always taking a different direction.
A lot of complaints about the mixing, it’d be good to have a chance to compare it to their live sound if they come down to Australia
sounds fantastic on vinyl
Whoever mixed this fucked up
This is God like.

let's see how many more of you fuckin twats are gonna mention the mix, so many idiots online it's sickening. you don't like it cunt? move fuckin on, who fuckin cares, to some mix is great to others it isn't bu fuckin hu, get a life ya notgettingany douchbags
Listened to the whole album last night. Was hoping it would sound better than this, but sadly it’s a collection of great songs ruined by horrible production. Even at the highest quality format, the whole record sounds like it’s a really badly compressed mp3 file, the high end is just a wishy washy mess, the only parts of the drum kit you can hear are the high hat and snare, the rest of the drums are almost inaudible. And the entire record is just drowned in a muddy mess of distortion. Why have a group of such talented musicians if all that skill is lost in awful production. This album had the potential to be their best yet, but in its current state it’s pretty hard to listen to at all.
Such an amazing display of drumming skills!!
songwriting is amazing, sound is god awful. I will not support this until they fix the sound. Gold's new album Why Aren't You Laughing? on the other hand sounds great. Gold gets the cash!
Same here
Killer tune just ordered the album
Goddamnit. Purple Two: The Compressioning.
The Distorted Flattening
fck this mix
Amazing, a season of changes.
New sound, less aggressive but quite techy.
Really love this song, can't wait to see you guys in Mexico City.
Once again, this mix is absolutely awful :( The song is so well written, but it just falls apart as a listening experience because of the mix.
Really great playing and the drummer gives his best - but weak riffs/melodies/production. They are lacking what makes Mastodon greater- ultracool riffs/catchy melodies
3:35 The clipping is real...
yeah that whole ending
theres a great song under all that bad mixing, everything sounds so buried you can hardly distinguish the instruments
The sound is a disaster, just like Purple was. I seriously can't believe that they hired the same producer and ruined Gold and Grey in the same way. Do Baroness even listen to their own albums (or what their fans are saying)?
@jpsin1616 why would they need to do what the fans say? that sounds so incredibly entitled.
Lol everyone here's acting like the most accomplished sound engineer, maybe get a good pair of headphones rather ?
Just preordered the Indie color vinyl
This sound very strange, cant explain, not good to me
That blast beat :o
John rocking the "Human=Garbage" Dystopia shirt. Classic.
I have to give Spotify a shoutout here. This song got recommended to me, and I was hooked. Instant favorite!
Hey do the drums sound a little buzzy to anyone? I think this is intentional but I can’t tell, since my different stereos and headphones are a lil old.
The rumour has it that this was first going to be called "Take my Balls Away".
Love the music but hate the production/mix. I cant listen to it. Sorry
Please don't tell me the whole album will be like this.
I ripped the 3.5mm plug out of my phone and threw it at my windshield in disgust.
This mix is CRAP.
I love this ARTIST
Pls FIX THIS

Shit lyrics, shit song.
Love the lyrics, love the music, love the seamlessness, reminds me of my favourite season, autumn, its crisp mornings, its vibrant colours, its mild sun, its misty dusks, the lingering light prone to fade but still clinging like dew drops to spiders' webs, the pumpkin soup, the chestnut flavour, the wistful melancholia and cozy warmth of fuzzy blankets, soft, forgiving hues of drowsy nature, tickling of rain, smell of moss, this immersive music, pensieve and honest, longing yet hopeful, appraisal of life and its effervescence.
Come on Baroness!!! what the fuck are you doing with your sound?!!!
New guitarist?
Playing Fenders..
2019 is the year of the Telecaster
Riff is serious, but i fucking love how empowering the lyrics are. Top ten favorite band. I kneel before my Baroness.
Cats listening to this on their logitech speakers apparently. Up your shit young ones.
I like when songs start with the “telephone” eq then switches to the warm full bodied sound but this just stays in the former.
make it heavier Goddamnit!!! bring back Blickle and Adams... this band use to have balls
I remember meeting Gina at the Guitar Center she used to work at YEARS ago. She was doing Misstalica at the time, and was just super cool. Her name came up a few times, but then a few years back I saw Baroness, and was like “HOLY SHIT THATS GINA!!” John and the band couldn’t have picked a better player to carry on the torch for Pete. I’m loving what she’s bringing to the band!
Song is pretty progressive and dynamic, with that subtle but always present Baroness trashy vibe. People complaining about production forget that if they already loved the song, everything else production-wise is irrelevant.
This band slays. So good
a veces se encuentran joyas donde uno menos espera, hermoso trabajo.
This needs to be remixed.... I wanna hear those guitars...
Gina's pick control 0:36! This bassline! Song has been stuck in my head all week. I hadn't noticed the quality until reading these comments, if it's good enough for Baizley, it's good enough for me.
Great... another Baroness album rendered unlistenable by brick wall production. WHY?
Yep. It's disheartening. All the more since the song and arrangements seem super interesting and the execution flawless
to much kicks n shit.. dunnp bout this new stuff...oh well bands cant be kickass forever
When you think you've blown your speakers but the mix is just really bad.
Hardoooo
I just discovered this band. Everything sounds good, but I don't like this guy's singing style. It's like power metal, but the singer wanted a Rock sound. Power Rock, there ya go.
The bass guitar...it's so awesome in this song!!! It's so rare that the bass gives this much extra push to a song...
To be honest, bass really hits the spot in all songs by Baroness.
This album was mixed and mastered by Helen Keller.
Nice bandname. Rhymes with boringness.
nice cymbal grab @3:04 :D
I see a lot of people complaining i dont know why. But this is also the first baroness song ive heard and i gotta say i love it. Anyone got any recommendations for older songs?
Rays on Pinion, Isak, Tower Falls, The Sweetest Curse, Swollen and Halo, A Horse Called Golgotha, March to the Sea, Morningstar.
I'd want to get into Baroness so much, but I just can't support a band that seems to have lost touch with reality. They'd call it 'artistic vision', I'll call it unlistenable wall of clipping. If anything - maybe not buying their records will change their mind, because it appears, they are not taking any criticism seriously.
Cant wait for what's to come. thank you guys rock on
This band is much better when he sings more aggressively
If this is mixed like the last album, I swear.
Man, the drumming in this song is "Teeth of a Cogwheel" good. Really looking forward to the new album!
COME ON BARONESS ...EXPLAIN YOURSELVES FOR THIS HORRIBLE MASTERING.
The sound grows on you.
it's a concept album. the mix is supposed to be grey
I'd say it simply sounds bad before sounding anything grey
It is a great song, but the production/mix is awful. It sounds really bad on my seinheiser headphones and that´s not good. The mix killed all the dynamics in the song, and the only way I really enjoy it is putting on high volume in my home stereo.
In fact, this is the second blast beat in a Baroness song. There was already one in Coeur.
I don't think I've ever been more stoked for a new album to drop...
You might not like the style of mix but commenting on it as if it's somehow a mistake to be fixed because it doesn't sound how YOU want it to sound is massively condescending. You think John and co. missed that it's a noisy mix, didnt notice, but you will save the day by informing them? Get a grip. It sounds how they want it to sound. It's theirs, not yours.
Sidenote: Buy the record, bet it sounds better than squashy YouTube audio.
eargasm ! you guys never disappoint :) :)
I love your art! It suits you guys well. Love this new music
I heard people saying there's blast beats on here. Making it out like it's on half the song, Yeah some blast beats, but only for a full 2 seconds.
I hope the actual record will sound better than this garbage.
great song! Baroness songs only get better with every listen
It's April 2019 and everyone has an Audio Engineering Masters Degree.
Do I have to have a film degree to say if I like a movie or not? Same thing here.
well we do have ears
Who produced this? >(
Dave Fridmann. A seasoned producer that seems interested in making Baroness sound painful despite the fantastic songwriting and flawless musicianship
@deceiver Sad but true.
