Baroness - Chlorine & Wine Lyrics

Just discovered Baroness about a week ago and I'm now firmly in the obsession stage. The ending minute or so of this song gives me chills every time.

This doesn't feel metal (saying this in a good way). The arrangements are too simple to be called metal, and not too loud to be called rock. (again, i am stating this in a good way. It is like a genre and style of its own, independent of being labelled as metal or rock.)

Not crazy about the song, but it picks up nicely ; good players; and a Telecaster is the best guitar to play metal on, because it cuts through everything, unlike Les Pauls; can't criticize a band using a Tele. Bridge pickup only.

For some reason I enjoyed this messy and weird mix. I think that works for the album as a whole and fits the narrative after their bus accident in 2012. When I listened the first release I didn't like it, but when I listen to the entire album, I enjoy the experience. I saw them last week, and the songs (without the fuzzy mix) are really great.

I saw Opeth and Gojira at Red Rocks in 2017. I missed the Opeth / Mastodon tour, but I've seen Mastodon a few times, and Baroness in July 2019. So I've seen them all, and I can absolutely say your tour roster would be amazing.

Something about this line really hits me. I have had a life of feeling forgotten or treated as an afterthought. A lot of that went away after I had my 3 sons. but ill be damned if I feel like I am letting them down all the time. i hurt and I am stricken with guilt and feel like I will never be able to do enough for them in the world so they don't have to suffer like I did. I don't want them to forget their worth. I don't want them to feel like i do. They are better than me and I don't ever want them to feel like are inadequate. This line makes me feel like I am doing it right. I am doing something good and better for them. But it hurts to feel that way too. Thank you for the beautiful song. the line probably in not meant to convey this message, but that is the beauty of art. I can interpret it how I want to, for the good or the bad. Art is subjective.

That's exactly how I describe this song to people, a journey. It's amazing.

This band honestly delivers so hard to me. I find myself hardly able to listen to them because of how truly raw it makes me feel. The feelings this band writes about fully grabs me by the throat and gives me a good shake. I’m not sure if that makes any sense, but dammit this band personified everything they do.

I dont know Baroness, just the name. First song I heard of them. Was on Dilivium by Obscura and clicked on it has it appeared in sugesstions and was curious. Must said that I liked it because the song felt driven by feelings and emotion with so much authenticity. This reached more than thousand notes of technical chops.
