Barclay James Harvest - Taking Some Time On Lyrics

Let's come on and get together
Like the sky gets to the sea
Just taking some time on
Let's come on and make it better
Let's make everybody see
Just taking some time on
For those who feel inclined
To talk about the hideen feelings of their mind
Let's come on and get together
Let's come on and get together
Like the sky with the sea
Like the sky with the sea
Just taking some time on

Let's come on and tell the story
Of the way it used to be
Just taking some time on
Let's come on and sing a song now
Of the days when we were free
Just taking some time on
For those who feel inclined
To talk about the hideen feelings of their mind
Let's come on and get together
Let's come on and get together
Like the sky with the sea
Like the sky with the sea
Just taking some time on

Let's come on the feeling's right now
We want everyone to be
Just taking some time on
Let's come on and get together
Like the sky gets to the sea
Just taking some time on
For those who feel inclined
To talk about the hideen feelings of their mind
Let's come on and get together
Let's come on and get together
Like the sky with the sea
Like the sky with the sea
Just taking some time on

Some great solos on this. Love this rocky song from BJH. Clearly going for it here. So typical of its time and I love it. The fade out solos are great and love that bass. Is it guitar and/or electric violins??

And this was not a hit in America? LOL -- Considering how long this band has existed and the crowds they continue to attract throughout Europe -- you would think there would be a European Category in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This band has survived longer than many of the ones who are in that damn hall of fame and BJH attracted bigger crowds. ANY band that started in 1966 and is still recording and performing regardless of where they are in the eyes of the USA -- and I am an American -- deserves to automatically be in the R&R Hall of Fame for sheer quality and longevity. This is an amazing band -- yes, the poor man's Moody Blues (and they too, aren't' in the R&R Hall of Fame, go figure). This band has quite a respectable repertoire too.

Good shout for  a European Hall of Fame, there are quite a few deserving candidates, though America seems to ignore a lot of its own suitable artists. I spent most of my teens listening to BJH and other contempory bands.Strangely enough they were much better thought of in Germany than in England. I loved their sound from the start, got the first eleven albums, and am searching for the later ones. At least we can listen to some good old music on YT. Peace.

One of the Barclays' best, beyond a shadow of doubt. It's a pity they didn't rock like this a bit more often imo.
