Never will I forget this song
Roteiro do Algarve segundo os olhos de John Lees. Não conheço outra banda que tenha no seu reportório um título em Português. Tratando-se dos BJH, uma das milhentas razões para me confessar um admirador confesso desta banda mágica e inconfundível, para mim a melhor de todos os tempos. Honra e orgulho. Letra e música sublimes.

Comecei a ouvir esta banda em 1977 e ainda hoje gosto de ouvir.
Sou fã dos BJH desde 1975. Já fui a dois concertos deles Infelizmente já separados em dois grupos mas de qualidade igual. Tenho pena que não venham ao Porto, pois há no norte muitos fãs da banda. Longa vida aos Barclay James Harvest..

Once again, I came back here to listen to this beautifull ballad - this is the famous theme written by the group about a horse ridng place they used to go, while staying in Almancil recording, if I'm not wrong, on the west side of the Algarve province, south of Portugal. "Paraíso dos Cavalos" (paradise of the horses), whose lyrics also refer Almancil, and close to villa group develloped between Faro and Quarteira, called "Quinta do Lago", with an amazing scenery including golf courses, tennis courts, and all sorts of clubs, restaurants and even discos (quite famous also during the eighties, I remember "Trigonometria", for ex.), has been a place with expensive villas, where some rich and famous have their own little bit of paradise, close to the airport of Faro and the beautifull beaches of the western Algarve...

But the best song of this albun is FIFTIES CHILD. I was 7 years old in 1980 and I had this album that my older brother bought. It makes me "cry" and smile everytime I hear FIFTIES CHILD.
GREAT !!! This is about a Portuguese place in the Algarve. I'm Portuguese and I was a child when I heard this for the first time. I bought the album and it was a bug surprise to see PARAISO DOS CAVALOS as one of the songs title. At that time there was no internet and it was just 20 years later that I found that was really about a real Portuguese place and experience. WONDERFUL !!! And the accent is so funny. Not easy to understand the Portuguese sentence :)

Foi nessa altura que eu Apprendeio A lingua de Deus. Eu sabia immediatemente que eles foram cantado de Portugal. Tal vez no Algarve...

BJH has always been an international band (after 1980) and not always so strictly British....Great song (Ring of Changes 1983 : yes 30 years ago and promoted as one of the first CD's) to thanks Portugal here! Great listening again!

@memberlp66 This was our place but it was in Quinta do Lago Almansil and later we moved to the other adress and took the name with us .It was a very well knowned riding centre
@qtadosol This was or place and they had lessons every day for about 5months and as a gift to us they wrote this song.We left the Algarve in 2001 and sold it on my son who road with them is now a pers trainer for Lusitano,s in Texas U.S.A.

Foi gravado em 1980, depois dos BJH terem estado nessa Aldeia (Paraíso dos Cavalos) perto de Almancil (Algarve) PORTUGAL. Vieram para passar uma semana ou duas e acabaram por ficar alguns meses.
