Barbra Streisand - Make Believe Lyrics
We could make believe I love you
Only make believe that you love me
Others find peace of mind in pretending
Couldn't you? Couldn't I? Couldn't we?
Make believe our lips are blending
Might as well make believe I love you
For to tell the truth
I only tell the truth
This time I'll tell the truth
I do!

Barbra Streisand Make Believe Comments
This is my absolute favorite Barbra Streisand performance ever, the arrangement, the composers and the singer. I don't care for "pop" Barbra but she liked %80 of what she was recording for CBS in the 70s and after and it was very popular, so it worked for her. But this is my favorite.
What a voice Barbra had in the 1960s. So unapologetically expressive, so unafraid to take things to places where others wouldn't (or couldn't) go.
Noe Berengena After the early 80s her voice, through tone, phrasing, emotional withholding, became bland and much less compelling/idiosyncratic for my liking. Made all the worse because the material became drippy schlock to match her uninspired voice. (2/8/19)
