So I heard this for the first time in Walmart today, and I’m wondering wtf there is so much auto tune, like wtf😂 honestly, it’s not that bad song, kind of catchy, but it’s a little too much auto tune for me, like, I can barely tell that they are saying actual words.

I honestly feel bad for banks because her man seems to be a narcissist and she doesn’t seem really acknowledge it she keeps talking about waiting for him to basically come and pick her up again but Narcissist are very unstable they have a exaggerating sense of self importance and cant feel empathy for others .They also have inability to listen to others. They have deep insecurities and beneath arrogant extorier. Now you know why they have trouble forming deep relationships. Narcissists cant grow out of it and can cause distress. Does anyone else feel bad for her?

LOVE THIS!

I read a review say this sounds like you left a bunch of tabs open on your browser and that was so on point. It's an ok song, if I take it apart element by element. The chorus is definitely a grower and anthemic, but then i wish at least one element was taken off. It's drowning in itself. But I do love the rhythm to it. It has that stompy percussion and gospel chorus. Francis is great, but he is drowned and confusing in the mix with all the ad libs. I'm not sure what to pay attention to, and the lyric video is no help either because the lyrics are jumping all over the place. All of this must be intentional so I think I can respect that the effect it's going for is accomplished, but just I didnt like it. This is a song that I want to like tho. Cus the entire album is so perfect otherwise. So if anyone who loves this song has any insights I'd love to have my mind changed.

This feels like the closing credits to an incredibly emotional romance film.

Casual music listeners won't know how to enjoy this. Their ears are not built for it. If you are on the other side of music however, this is a treat! Beautiful.

What everyone is arguing about here is BJ Burton's production style which has been gracing Bon Iver's music that also has polarized Bon Iver fans until they stuck with it. This specific production quality has also been adopted by Cashmere Cat, Chance The Rapper and more. The "instrument" in question is NOT autotune, but called The Messina after Chris Messina (akin to Prismizer used by Chance/Kanye etc. in their older tunes that Francis invented) which utilizes software into hardware to real-time create the harmonies and texture to the vocals. Autotune was originally created for pitch correction, then used to create purposeful static changes. If you listen here, none of that is happening because the Messina takes in direct analog vocals and honors their original sound with a layered texture. Kind of like how we all love "Poltergeist" live with the two microphones ;)
