Band, The - If I Lose Lyrics
I never thought I'd need you
But now I find I'm wrong.
Come on back, sweet mama,
Back where you belong.
I've gambled over this town
Come on back and pick me up again.
[Chorus:]
Now if I lose,
Let me lose.
I don't care
How much I lose.
If I lose a hundred dollars
While I'm tryin' to win a dime,
My baby, she's got money all the time.
Of all the other girls I know,
None can take your place.
'Cause when I get into a jam,
They just ain't in this race.
So come on back home, babe,
Let's make another round.
With you here by my side, babe,
The deal just can't go down.
[Chorus x2]

finlarg Me too!
Dang, even they're outtakes are better than any one else.
This is the Stanley Brothers version, done quite well.
Me too! One of my favorite DVDs.
I love the way they could play so many different instruments. I've watched the Last Waltz DVD soooooo many times!
Nice bit of musical chairs on this one - Levon's on mandolin, Richard's on drums...
One of my favorite Band songs.
@gutbucketblues You're welcome, it's a great old song!
glad I found this song on here!!
thanks!
@MrRedthief It certainly does. I wonder if this had an influence on the writing of Cripple Creek?
@skinnyjohnsen Such a loss, he made some really great music and had a great style of bass playing!
I like this song, it tells us more about all of us than we realize.
@finlarg He worked with Eric Andersen and the Norwegian artist Jonas Fjell. I really didn't know that he had died.
@skinnyjohnsen Not the Rick Danko in this song - I'm afraid to say. He died in 1999.
I like this song a lot, so I'm glad if I can make others aware of it!
Cool song! I don't think I've heard it before.
Did you know Rick Danko lives in Norway now?
