Bananarama - Last Thing On My Mind Lyrics

There was something in your voice
That was telling me don't be too sure
Arousing my suspicions
I have never felt before
I thought we had it made
I thought you'd never go away

But now you're suddenly like a stranger
And you're leaving our love behind
Of all the things I was ever planning for
This was the last thing on my mind

When I looked into your eyes
There was something you weren't telling me
But in my confusion
I just couldn't see
If there was any doubt
I thought that we would work it out

But now you're suddenly like a stranger
And you're leaving our love behind
Of all the things I was ever planning for
This was the last thing on my mind

This was the last thing on my mind

There was something in your voice
That was telling me don't be too sure
Arousing my suspicions
I have never felt before
I thought we had it made
I thought you'd never go away

But now you're suddenly like a stranger
And you're leaving our love behind
Of all the things I was ever planning for
This was the last thing on my mind

Bananarama Last Thing On My Mind Comments
  1. H.... ....

Most underrated Bananarama song hands down

    H.... ....

    HighHeartWellness this and Movin’ On

  2. H.... S....

Ay, so this is the original version of this song?! I didn't know that!

  3. S.... L....

Steps version sound more original for some reason

  4. M.... ....

Anyone else here after hearing this track in background on Classic Coronation Street today?

    M.... ....

Ha ha, that's exactly why I'm here now to find out who was singing it. 😁

    M.... ....

Yes I didn't know this was the original version before Steps in 1998!

    M.... ....

    @Jake Morris Same here. 😎

    M.... ....

Me too. I'd never heard this version before until I watched Coronation Street. Peaked at number 71 in the UK charts!

    M.... ....

Wow! You were right! In the background as Bet and Vicky Arden had a tete a tete!

  5. A.... L....

    Keren amazing as always

  6. A.... T....

    Sarah looks like Annie Lennox.

  7. R.... R....

Always preferred this version. While I love Steps, their version is too jumpy, and, to be frank, too positive. This is a very sad song about the end of a relationship when you suddenly realise you don't know someone any more. The feeling (and key) in this strikes exactly the right note.

  8. m.... s....

I love both Abba and Bananarama , I really do. However, is this tune supposed to sound like Abba? Don't think so. Only a few parts are similar to "Fernando"

  9. F.... ....

Steps bought me here also I prefer the Steps version 🙌🏻

  10. T.... ....

I prefer Steps version of this song. I don't like Bananaramas version because it's boring. I knew I didn't like anyway

  11. T.... B....

    bananrama are so amazing

  12. r.... s....

Steps version of this song looks and sounds like it was made by Walt Disney when you compare it to this one . I prefer this one by far .

  13. O.... S....

Steps version is soooo much better!!

    O.... S....

Original is always better, but steps did take it to a different level with a dancey track.

    O.... S....

@Christopher Moody Original was a little too slow. Considering that SAW produced it it should have had more oomph.
But Steps stepped it up. :D Took it to where it should have been.

    O.... S....

Step version is crack… a total disappoint.

  14. G.... K....

    sounds a little bit ABBA

    G.... K....

I believe there was renewed interest in ABBA around the time this song was produced (early 1990's). Sounds like ABBA is a compliment in my humble opinion. Thanks for sharing.

    G.... K....

I read that the producer of their album, 'Please Yourself' wanted to make an album that is inspired by ABBA, that's why this and 'Movin' On' sounds like an ABBA song.

    G.... K....

Yeh it sounds like it was written by ABBA. Thought it might have been a cover.
Great melody with that signature SAW production.

  15. W.... M....

Keren really reminds me of Courteney Cox here <3

  16. A.... M....

Grandes interpretes las Bananarama. Queda su música en el recuerdo con canciones tan bellas como éstas. Estupenda la coreografia de los bailarines y del grupo que lo hacen de fabula. Me gusta mucho el video clip.

  17. H.... ....

Sarah kinda resembles Annie Lennox at 1:50

  18. S.... L....

    Hi MrPoopface

  19. N.... C....

    Beautiful song!!!

  20. C.... C....

This is the best song from Please Yourself.

    C.... C....

Movin On, Is She Good To You, You're Never Satisfied, More More More were better

    C.... C....

    @Richard Wernsing I agree

  21. C.... C....

Love this song, how did it only get #71 ? It should be a top 30 at least

    C.... C....

The video was banned in various places in the UK because of the lesbian undertones ! Didn't help. These days this would be tame.

    C.... C....

Yes, this videoclip came too early!

    C.... C....

The song was simply too good)

    C.... C....

The song made it in the end thanks to Steps.

    C.... C....

@Roland Pratt Yeh, Steps version was so much better.
