Badfinger - Your So Fine Lyrics

Let me see your face
Let me see you smile
None can measure your love in miles
Only you can comfort me
You're so fine

You can take me up
You can bring me down
Put my feet back on the ground
Since you got a hold on me, I'm alive
I'm alive

Builds around me fences
Put my back against the wall
You broke into my world and made me crawl
Broken my defenses
Made me want you more and more
Came into my life
I asked for more, more and more

[guitar solo (Pete Ham)]

Can't get enough
Enough of your love
I've learned my lesson well
Now it's good enough
Maybe someday the world will come
I'm alive
I'm alive

Builds around me fences
Put my back against the wall
You broke into my world and made me crawl
Broken my defenses
Made me want you more and more
You came into my life
I asked for more, more and more.

Who plays the lead guitar solo? A very fine tune indeed!

    M.... C....

I think Pete Ham, but I don't think there's a way to be sure.

  5. a.... t....

Great song! One of my favorites. They were indeed 'So Fine' and still are as far I'm concerned!! They should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!

  6. H.... h....

wish you were here great album, great band, great songs

  7. J.... W....

great badfinger song and my lady is so fine.

  8. c.... ....

Written by Mike. Lead vocal sung by Joey. Harmony vocal by Pete. Very, very good potent stuff, indeed.

    c.... ....

+crapple009 Creem magazine used to use "sic" whenever someone wrote in something that was misspelled. I used to think it meant "spelling incorrect". Then I learned that it was Latin for "yeah, he really wrote that, haha!"

    c.... ....

    +Katherine Pavlica :-)

    c.... ....

crapple009. Mike wrote some great songs, during and after Badfinger days.

  9. R.... S....

    What a good group.

    R.... S....

    Hell yeah

  10. A.... V....

The title of this song is certainly done in jest.  They did the same thing with the song "Know One Knows," which is mistakenly titled "No One Knows" on the YouTube playlist.  No mistakes... just tongue-in-cheek fun, Badfinger style.

  11. S.... D....

Yeah, it's your. Don't matter. Music is great. Props to my late friend, Dave Leong, for turning me on to this and to Breaking Bad for reviving Badfinger in the consciousness of some of us. An appropriate choice for the last episode (Baby Blue, that is, not this song) music-wise, as two of the members died by their own hands.

  12. T.... ....

    Wow!No dislike!?

  13. T.... ....

ha ha ha ha,that is hilarious
-having been labeled a spelling nazi on YT-myself-
i find these two comments so funny-

  14. o.... ....

nice to see a gentleman on the net. P.S. GREAT BAND!

  15. p.... ....

Doesn't matter how it's spelled; it's still a great tune.

  16. v.... ....

    simply, my favorite Badfinger Album

    v.... ....

No Dice - it's my lovely lp. Greetings from Poland ;)))

  17. S.... J....

    Thank you...And pardon my ignorance...

  18. I.... B....

I just checked it and it's written this way on the album's back cover and on the vynil. You'll see "you're" on different websites but the title of this video is definitely in accordance to the original name of track.

  19. I.... B....

Verdade. Até no Allmusic e Wikipedia eles colocaram "You're" mas o original é "Your" mesmo. Vlw!

  20. V.... A....

O nome da música (que consta nos créditos do WYWH) é esse mesmo: "Your So Fine".

  21. I.... B....

    Ajeita esse título!

  22. i.... ....

It really sounds like it's Pete doing the higher harmony part, and Joey doing the lower harmony, and the chorus (Built around me fences/Put my back against the wall...).

  23. l.... ....

Badfiner were more than a second-class band!

    l.... ....

was the second best band after the beatles

  24. m.... ....

In a dvd they released a few years ago that is now out of print Joey said Pete and himself sang this Mike Gibbins written song.

  25. i.... ....

Someone needs to find Joey and ask him. Now this is bugging me if the lyric sheet isn't how they intended, or the title isn't. Same thing happened with "Know One Knows".

  26. S.... J....

Please accept my apologies.. Evidently Badfinger or their label goofed up on the title, because on the lyric sheet in my album it spells it out as "you're so fine".
Still wondering then what is so hard about this word. LOL!

  27. i.... ....

Because that's what they titled it.

  28. V.... A....

Before you try to be such intelligent, read on the album credits what's the name of the music, and if you're unhappy with that, try to a spirit session with the boys to reclaim the choose of the song's name.

  29. c.... ....

I believe I have the album somewhere on cassette but haven't had a cassette player for years!

  30. t.... p....

@carriad11 I got it on 8-Track & I listen to it,, but yeah its hard to find..

  31. S.... J....

Great post but why in THE HELL can't anyone spell a word anymore so simple as "You're"?
Fix your title & redeem youself please...

  32. c.... ....

The story behind the album "Wish you were here" proves just how nasty the recording industry really can be. Easily the best from Badfinger and just about impossible to buy. Seems making a point is more important than even making money!

  33. P.... ....

@jgoodwin2013 Yea, well Badfinger spelled it incorrectly on the track listing, too. :) I just Googled the back cover for this album and, sure enough, "Your So Fine." I wanted to post the URL, but Youtube won't let me.

  34. C.... C....

@Badfinger4 It's Joey. The only songs Mike sang on were Think About The Good Times, Loving You, Cowboy, My Heart Goes Out, In The Meantime, Back Again, & Rockin Machine, all of which he wrote. Pete sang on It Had To Be, but there's a snippet of Mike's vocal added in the 2nd verse, so his complete vocal must be on the original session tape. Mike had everybody else sing all the other songs he wrote or co-wrote. He didn't think of himself as a singer, just a drummer who wrote songs. Im the same way

    C.... C....

Mike also played keyboards on "In The Meantime". He also played guitar on "My Heart Goes Out" & "Back Again". There's some conjecture whether he also played guitar on "Rockin Machine" as well. Tiger.

  35. D.... ....

@Seej1982 Is there any possibility that that's Mike singing beginning at :55, until 1:19? Or is that Joey also? When I first heard this song, I thought it sounded like Pete and Joey singing a duel lead, but later I found out Mike wrote it and I always wondered if he sang anywhere on it.

What a great song by one of the greatest bands of all time. Pete Ham is perhaps the single greatest talent in the history of music, in my opinion. McCartney is the only one you could argue who rivals him.

  36. J.... C....

The drummer wrote this. Mike Gibbons. What a drummer too. RIP, Mike. You're so fine.

  37. C.... C....

Nope. It's Joey & Pete singing harmonies. Mike wasn't that keen on singing. He argued with Chris Thomas about not singing "In The Meantime" but lost.

  38. e.... ....

I think Gibbins is singing this. He had the raspiest voice of the four Badfinger boys.

  39. e.... ....

@destruyyou47 Mike sings lead. Pete sings harmony.

  40. S.... ....

You're* Jesus Christ not that hard to get it right....

  41. m.... e....

    please upload 'DENNIS'

  42. h.... ....

Joey & Pete are singing on this one.

  43. c.... ....

Love the backing vocals at 2:20. Heavenly!

  44. k.... P....

sounds like everyone singing....I hear Pete and Tommy too. thank you for posting.

  45. m.... ....

Sounds like Joey Molland is the lead singer here. Did Gibbins sing at all?
