Bad Religion - You Don't Belong Lyrics

Hey you
Is there something worth aspiring to
And can it be found in a record store
Well it's not there anymore
Just think of all the things we did
We were different
Just like all the other kids

Missy was a teen blue video star
Tom took his life in his mother's car
Milo went to college but you knew about that
Rodney played our record
GG started riots
Laurie was always quiet
She was battling depression

Hey you
Is there something worth belonging to
And can I pick it up for a song
Or a diploma or a worthy cause
Well let me tell you that there's nothing wrong
It's just that ones like us will never belong

Jack wore a skirt but he knew how to scrap
Billy went to county on a class one possession
Wendy went to school while her daddy shot smack
Eugene kept a list
Mugger was security
Mary she kept her purity
We were all in it together

Yellowed postcards on the wall
Serve to cover up a blankness after all
So I will carry them along
Like a song when I'm gone yeah

Hey you
Is there something worth belonging to
You know we've been here all along
Like a confederacy of the wrong
And I confess it could be prejudice
But to you I dedicate this song
Yeah to you

the milo went to college reference is clear but i'm wondering if the other names are referring to anyone.

    L.... T....

Jack is Jack Grisham from TSOL.

"Missy was a teen blue video star": "Blue movie" is another term for an erotic film. In San Fernando Valley lived girl better known as Missy who was a porn star. She was in similar age as the guys from BR and maybe they known her from school. Probably is about her.

Man. I have to say this is my favorite album, and I have been listening to BR since I was 11. I have heard all (or close to all) they have recorded and released on epitaph or otherwise circulated, and I only dislike "into the unknown" and "a new america", but this one hits me emotionally and intellectually, making me think deeply and feel intensely at once. It also impresses me as a musician more than any other album. Every instrument and vocal is separately, distinctly audible, loud and clear.

Adam Rainstopper I remember when blink 182 not that they were ever my fav but we're actually still underground and believe or not a few songs on the dude Rance album when they sold out , they were actually saying farewell to all the kids in the scene and singing to the underground audience .people who were in the scene who knew blink before they sold out would know that in that album dude ranch they were telling everyone in the scene farewell in a few songs...just a little trivia for ya

Adam Rainstopper check out a band called Randi, also check out NOFX (the longest line album) or liberal animation by NOFX(1989!)it's nothing new, we've been doing this before most were born!

    A.... R....

Adam Rainstopper check out the band face to face or assorted jelly beans or the band Good riddance as well!

people today if your younger than thirty will never know what punk is or was , there was actually a time when punk was dangerous and before the public even knew what the word punk was or that it even existed.you all youngsters out there may get your hands on it but before you got a hold of the internet you'd still be Nippon to radio music unless you grew up in it, all you kids may hear it but you'll never know what it was like to be apart of it

    *yawn*
