Bad Religion - We're Only Gonna Die From Our Own Arrogance Lyrics

Early man walked away as modern man took control.
Their minds weren't all the same, to conquer was his big goal,
So he built his great empire and slaughtered his own kind,
Then he died a confused man, killed himself with his own mind.
Go!
[x3]
We're only gonna die from our own arrogance. [x4]

Bad Religion We're Only Gonna Die From Our Own Arrogance Comments
  1. S.... C....

I'm sorry but THAW all the way

  2. M.... R....

Thumbs up if you love this song but have a slightly more optimistic view of humanity 🌞

  3. E.... P....

it somehow reminds me of violent pacification of DRI

  4. R.... 0....

Such an appropriate song for the US under Donald Trump.....HIS arrogance is gonna kill US !!!

  5. z.... ....

This song originally of bad religion?

  6. K.... ....

didn't know this was a bad religion song. I guess i like the sublime cover better.

  7. J.... M....

Anyone know the Tony Hawk song where they say "This is America...look at what you've done"? I thought it was this song.

  8. D.... ....

I love both versions (sublime/bad religion) but I think I knew this version before the sublime one.
but where do I know this song from?
was it on some popular video game or something? otherwise I don't really know how I found this song, since I never listened to bad religion Oo
(discovered sublime on matt hoffman's freestyle bmx and know bad religion from THPS)

  9. h.... ....

Both versions are good, as a punk fan i say the br version is better, but being the sublime version is much more commercial i can see why its liked more. I like distortion

  10. D.... O....

I first heard this song, this version, on some New Jersey punk radio station over 20 years ago. It's only now, on Christmas morning 2018, that I thought to look it up.

  11. J.... M....

i think he a little more punk than me

  12. P.... ....

BR’s “version” is superior if for no other reason than their phrasing of the eponymous lyric ”die from” means humanities arrogance will lead to humanities destruction; “die for” implies someone/something will punish humanity with death.
Sublime was a glorified cover band that released 2 albums in their 10 year career and half of what they recorded were cover songs. BR released 6 albums in their first 10 years with no cover songs, and weren’t even together for 4 of those years.

    P.... ....

Most ignorant comment LMAO two albums by the time he died and one of the most recognizable bands on the planet

    P.... ....

@Tyler Parra Seriously~ Bradley died before the band ever saw any success.

  13. I.... ....

Thumbs up if you just don't care!

  14. g.... ....

    The best

  15. C.... T....

Haha! Fucking Sublime! 1982 pit! OMG!!!!!!!!!

  16. H.... C....

Fucking saw these guys a couple days ago.

  17. T.... I....

    FUCK DONALD TRUMP! Fuck him!!!!!!!

  18. C.... i....

NOFX brought me here thanks mike

  19. C.... M....

Bad Religion brought me here, then to sublime, then to reggae!

  20. s.... ....

    Sometimes I just don't give a shit

  21. M.... R....

    yee that's right...i mean that real^^

  22. T.... H....

    Theme song of 2017

    T.... H....

They are dying in Chicago Dem zones.

  23. S.... C....

Okay, I heard the Sublime one first but I won't let a biased opinion get in the way of looking at both objectively. First, the Sublime one sounds way clearer compared to this one. But the song sounds really good in this style. I say they are the same compared how much I like the song.

    S.... C....

    Iptar jesus christ stfu

    S.... C....

This is real punk guy. Go back to studio created pop land.

  24. w.... d....

this is just the definition of punk to me. unforgiving

    w.... d....

@Zomby Woof So only raw punk with terible quality defines "real punk" for you? Whatever. This album is hardcore punk whether you want it or not. It was not until Suffer they become more melodic, still hardcore though. 90s they started to have alternative rock influences, agains still punk. Me myself likes all kinda punk from the ramones to the dead kennedys to offspring.

    w.... d....

    Done.
Like and listen to what you will.
    I'll do the same.

    w.... d....

Zomby, is that a zappa reference? if so, I love you ;)

    w.... d....

listen to operation ivy, your definition will change

    w.... d....

Thank you, that's a fantastic comment and beautiful definition of punk

  25. S.... R....

+samamu kitz this album came out in 1982 where as 40oz to freedom came out in 1992.

  26. x.... ....

i thought Sublime wrote this song. Im in shock to have finally discovered this

    x.... ....

Let us not bash. Punk is supposed to unite us all.
Fighting among ourselves is what killed Punk.
    Don't hate, educate!

    x.... ....

xCHOPP3R so many of the best sublime songs are covers but I will say the songs they did write were truly genus

    x.... ....

yeah man thats whats nuts to me...

    x.... ....

    Searowl 99 Genius*, genius

    x.... ....

I’m today years old discovering that. Born in 79

  27. C.... L....

I like the sublime version a lot more

    C.... L....

Same. Sorry not sorry, love punk rock, but I’ve always disliked Bad Religion

    C.... L....

Sublime would prob disagree with you.

  28. C.... S....

    Punk rock rules.

  29. A.... S....

Curious about the inspiration for this song? Check out our profile of Greg Graffin the scientist! http://www.asbmb.org/asbmbtoday/201409/Features/Graffin/

    A.... S....

+American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) damn what am I doing with my life?

  30. A.... G....

I can see how people would like Bad Religions original over Sublimes cover, however, if you listen to the live version on Sublimes Everything Under the Sun Disc 2 you could listen to magic. Its better than any BR version (although more credit goes to BR because they made the song)

  31. n.... m....

dude all of those bands came from nothing and are entitled to everything they get unlike some of these rappers that can rhyme to a shitty beat and make billions you should be happy for some of these REAL musicians are getting some money in their pockets and living life how they deserve FUCK YOU!

  32. D.... M....

I just like Bad Religion's first album. Sublime's cover is radical, but Bad Religion kicks ass.

  33. C.... M....

    Oddly specific.

  34. C.... ....

Thumbs up if Bad Religion brought you to Sublime which brought you to weed which brought you to Mcdonald's which brought you to a great job oppurtunity which got you a laptop which brought you here.

    C.... ....

Sorry dude, you're the only one on that road.

    C.... ....

Never said I was on that road, bud.

    C.... ....

Codename - I cannot thumbs up (as apparently 5 others can; as of Turkey Day '17). Kind of a very specific & narrow path to take. Lol.. But, I've loved me some "Bad Religion" for a long time now. Love every song from the 'Stranger than Fiction" album. Got it when it 1st came out. Back then, I lived in the hood & would crank that shit up while sitting on my front porch. During the Gangsta rap early days, I jammed that whole album. Really enjoyed: 'Incomplete', 'Better Off Dead' & 'Hooray For Me". Got some great reactions..!! Nobody fucked with me since they just knew I was crazy. They just couldn't comprehend the pace & the beat. I told'em only crazy white guys get it. They believed it. Especially when they read the lyrics to a few songs... Lol..!! Ahhh, the good ole days...

    C.... ....

not the mc donalds part. that shits nasty lol

  35. A.... ....

I like Metallica (Only Master of Puppets got kinda gay after that, i know people r gonna hate on me saying that I dont really care, Pantera kicks ass and so does Megadeth, but in my opinion Rancid and NOFX are the best he listed...

  36. m.... ....

    ..actually, Prong brought me here..

  37. b.... ....

THUMBS UP IF SUBLIME DID NOT BRING YOU HERE!!!!!!!

    b.... ....

it did! and I found out the sublime did an awesome cover double thumbs!!

    b.... ....

IT DIDN'T remember this song years a go from a warped tour cd killer

    b.... ....

I came her bc of Bioharzard

    b.... ....

Just saw the Sublime cover watching an old Billabong flick, brought me right back to Bad Religion

    b.... ....

Sublime brought me here, but it introduced me to a fantastic band that I wouldn't have been aware of otherwise

  38. a.... m....

Perhaps "God" created man, but surely man created religion.

    There is no "good" religion.

  39. H.... P....

thumbs up if bad religion brought you to sublime, which brought you back here.

  40. A.... E....

What does the bands being "overhyped" or "mainstream" have to do with their variety in music? Fucking hipsters man.

  41. S.... ....

Calm down kiddo. All I did was question the 'variety'. The bands he named all borrow from each other and sound very alike. They're the standard pick and mix of punk and metal that really don't differ as much from each other as the fans would like to. So, variety? Hardly.

  42. P.... ....

By the way that comment you posted is retarted. So what if he listens to bands that are mainstream? What? Just because you just happen to listen to Bad Religion, you can't listen to Rush? Or any other band that FM radio plays? That's fucking stupid.

  43. P.... ....

Since when the hell is Overkill mainstream?

  44. z.... ....

i like them but most people dont know that most of there songs are covers

  45. b.... ....

    respect tastes

  46. c.... a....

I like this version, and I like the Sublime cover, but, I prefer sublime because I love that music style.

  47. S.... H....

I loved Sublime, but that's definitely not what brought me here... Sublime covered some great punk rock bands like Bad Religion, Descendents, Bad Brains, etc., but the originals are where it's at.

  48. C.... B....

I honestly can't say whether I like Bad Religion or Sublime more when it comes to this song. Bad-ass original, and then a bad-ass cover. Both are mind-blowing to me.

  49. T.... ....

Gotta say, this version is better

  50. M.... ....

    Fuck you.

  51. S.... ....

Fuk dubstep, this kind of music is the best to listen to high!

  52. 0.... 0....

    fuck sublime

    0.... 0....

    fuck you

  53. T.... F....

    Good Music..is just that...Good Music!!!!!!

  54. E.... ....

you are my twin. i get that from your comment. plus, SLAYER

  55. R.... M....

i feel sorry for the people who had sublime bring them here. kind of pathetic

    R.... M....

    nah, you are

  56. p.... ....

Missing from lyrics-Were only gunna die for our own arrogance ha ha ha awsome vid!

  57. F.... ....

    Not even slightly true

  58. D.... D....

God Bless you for your variety, son. :)

  59. b.... ....

This may not be a good place to ask: but does anyone have the Daisy Chainsaw version of this from the early nineties?

  60. A.... ....

wtf at the advertisement at the beginning?

  61. N.... M....

Variety, the SPICE OF LIFE! ;D

  62. M.... ....

I like it when there are no dislikes.

  63. C.... J....

but respect to Bad Religion, great band.

  64. c.... ....

HOW DOES SUBLIME COVER HAVE MORE VEIWS???

    c.... ....

Because made a good cover yo

  65. V.... ....

metallica pantera rancid megadeth and nofx are all good bands even though hella trendy people like them but punk and metal is not that big of a variety

  66. T.... ....

I can listen to the riff at 0:50 all day! \m/

  67. T.... ....

    Bad Religion > Sublime

  68. S.... ....

    @Metaldudehere
How is listening to overhyped mainstream bands variety?

  69. s.... l....

I seriously can't believe these fucking morons that think this was originally sublimes song. They are poor under cultured people.

  70. a.... ....

This song was written when Sublime was still hiding his moms crack.

  71. a.... ....

Sublime did not bring me here. Neither did 311 or UB40. Or Snow. Snow didn't bring me here. Neither did 3rd Bass, Vanilla Ice, Limp Bizket, or New Kids on The Block.

  72. s.... ....

    @Metaldudehere
Yes brother! Variety is what the world offers us. Cheers to you for drinking it up!

  73. J.... U....

@wowie50 Yeah. The Sublime version is really good though.

  74. T.... ....

I think this song is talking about Pol Pot.

  75. C.... ....

    @iEatedBitches Well Whackity Smackity doo

  76. Z.... C....

Yo Chill I Know What Your Saying And I Respect Your Incite On Know How Of Music. Bad Relidgion Is A Very Good Punk Rock Band But I Think You Worship Them A Little Too Hard. There Are A Lot Better Guitarist And Lyricist Out There

  77. L.... m....

    @Cobrasons Original Sublime? Sublime's is a cover.

  78. C.... ....

This is pretty cool, but I like the original Sublime version better.

  79. C.... H....

@jwes421 Lol what? what song is that? haha

  80. j.... ....

    @Metaldudehere
Didn't nofx sing about you and your tye-dyed rancid shirt? "Jeff Don't Wear Regular Shoooes"
    ....I'm just fukkin withya man!

  81. R.... M....

@hippofries Bradley Nowell was a tool who just used heroin to improve his songwriting which it didn't. His own dad said so. He just left his kid without a dad and fucked up Bud and Eric's future. Fuck him. He was an idiot. Bad Religion owns the douche.

  82. S.... ....

    nice...

  83. T.... ....

@MsAuntMary Sublime's version isn't bad but this is waaaaaay better. BAD RELIGION RULES!

  84. R.... M....

    @amaroq18 Fuck yourself

  85. A.... O....

bother versions are beast just different. stop comparing

  86. R.... M....

    fuck sublime

  87. C.... H....

@Krimghor seriously, i go from lamb of god to sublime lol

  88. K.... ....

@Metaldudehere Im a metalhead as well and i love bad religion, been listening since i was 8. Too many narrow minds in this world.

  89. C.... H....

@WeDieYoung1083 dude i like bad religion and i am a megadeth fan, an overkill fan and i love pantera. also i am wearing a rush shirt, but my fav band is rancid, metallica, megadeth and nofx! you just gotta have variety!

  90. r.... ....

This is a great song. Very true too!

  91. p.... ....

this song fuckin rocks my jizzy socks
