No they didn't bsb and one direction have totally different lyrics to their songs it was probably just an accident that they ended up with the same name but the two songs are nothing alike. One direction's version seems to be more for families or couples while bsb's version is for everyone in the world huge difference!

I pondered about things, and I realized getting a C+ wasn't really bad, I can always improve and get an A next time. Im a rock, alternative, hardcore music fan but i have great respect for this soulful song from these guys.. their music is different but still it has strong sense and meaning to us all..

This song makes you realize that everybody feels upset or miserable sometimes and they all can overcome it. You're not different from them, so you can do it too.
I think listening to "Story of my life" shows you the way to feel better again, and that is what I really love about the song.
