Ayreon - Liquid Eternity Lyrics

[Jonas Renkse:]
Once a world, endless and free, horizons unbroken
Now a world of bounded frontiers, the elders have spoken
(our home)

[Daniel Gildenlöw:]
Once a world, eternal and blue, floating, escaping
Now a world that's blinding my view, shadows shaping
(alone)

[Chorus:]
[Magali Luyten:]
Liquid eternity courses through our veins
Liquid eternity nourishes our brains
Liquid eternity, a world that does not live
Liquid eternity, a life that does not yield

[Bob Catley:]
Once a world of fear and dismay of fleeing and hiding
Now a world that's peaceful and safe, so caring and providing,
our home...

[Chorus]

[Tom Englund:]
Would you prefer the pain and suffering we had?
Would you prefer to be in peril, even dead?
Would you prefer to live the life we've learned to dread?
Would you prefer to live a mortal life instead?
[Jonas Renkse:] Our home

[Jorn Lande:] I'm losing my reason to live, the essence of life
[Floor Jansen:] But the system's got so much to give or would you rather die?
[Jorn Lande:] I'm losing my pride and my joy, my will to believe
[Floor Jansen:] Why would you come back and destroy all we have achieved?

[Chorus]

[Tom Englund:]
Would you prefer the pain and suffering we had?
Would you prefer to be in peril, even dead?
Would you prefer to live the life we've loved to play?
Would you prefer to live a mortal life instead?

[Chorus]

[Tom Englund:]
Would you prefer the pain and suffering we had?
Would you prefer to be in peril, even dead?
Would you prefer to live the life we've learned to dread?
Would you prefer to live a mortal life instead?

[Jonas Renkse:] Our home

Ayreon Liquid Eternity Comments
  1. J&S

Ho i have 17 years i love Ayreon

  2. Io Io

    Lyrics in italiano:

    [Jonas Renkse:] (Nosso lar)

    [Tom Englund:]
    [Jonas Renkse:] (Nosso lar)

    [refrão]

    [Tom England:]
    [Jonas Renkse:] (Nosso lar)

  12. Oakenlix

Why even do anything in life when this song already exists?

  13. Gloria R. Giménez G.

Something in 3.34 and around feels like a heartbeat... and the melody on top of it is just, wow... so beautiful and haunting. And then Jorn Lande is fucking amazing, what a raspy, powerful, warm voice!

Ayreon is a musical project by Dutch Songwriter, Singer, Multi-Instrumentalist, Musician, and Record Producer Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Ayreon’s music is described as Progressive Rock, Progressive Metal, and Power Metal sometimes combined with genres such as folk, electronica, experimental, and classical music. The majority of Ayreon’s albums are dubbed “Metal Operas” because the albums contain complex storylines featuring a host of characters, each with a unique vocalist. Arjen Anthony Lucassen is from Waalwijk, Noth Brabant, Netherlands. He has been active in the \m/ scene from 1995 to present. Lucassen writes all the music and lyrics on all of Ayreon albums. He is quite the \m/ musical genius. ‘01011001’ is the 7th studio album by Lucassen’s Ayreon project. ‘01011001’ is the binary representation of the ASCII value of the letter Y. This album, ‘01011001’ was released 25 January 2008 by Inside Out Music and Produced by Arjen Lucassen. Seventeen singers contributed to this album, including Lucassen and Other Singers were Anneke van Giersbergen, Floor Jansen, Bob Catley, Hansi Kürsch, Jørn Lande, and Steve Lee. The story of this Metal Opera is: Through technological advancement, ‘Forever,’ a race of aquatic beings living on Planet Y, has found the secret to longevity. They have advanced to the point that they have become completely dependent on machines and are losing their emotions. A passing comet on a collision course with planet Earth provides the opportunity to revitalize their race; ‘Forever’ harness the comet to carry their DNA to a new home on Earth. When the comet & Earth collide, the cataclysmic impact exterminates the dinosaurs(the fifth extinction), but from the ashes of destruction, humans arise. At first, the experiment which seeded DNA seems successful: though the humans ‘Forever’ relive the emotions they experienced before the age of machines. In order to help mankind overcome their physical ailments and mental limitations, ‘Forever’ speedsup human evolution, the result is tragic: People develop a similar technological dependency with their emotions waning just like ‘Forever’ and moral development not keeping pace with the capacity to invent. ‘Forever’ must find a way to save mankind from it’s imminent self-destruction...or should they? “Liquid Eternity” is Track #3 on CD #1 and the vocalists are: Jonas Renske, Daniel Gildenlöw, Magali Luyten, Bob Catley, Tom Englund, Jørn Lande and Floor Jansen. Instrumentalists: Cellist- David Faber, Arjen Anthony Lucassen- Electric and Acoustic Guitars, Bass Guitars, Mandolin, Keyboards, Synthesizers, Hammond, and Solina, Violins- Ben Mathot, Michael Romeo- Guitar Solo on “E=mc,” Derek Sherinian-Synthesizer solo on “The Fifth Extinction,” Ed Warby- Drums and Percussion, Production: Recording, Production, Mixing and Mastering- Arjen Anthony Lucassen and Engineering Assistant- Joost van den Broek. This is an awesome Metal Opera like all of Lucassen’s masterpieces are! Rock on Ayreon! 🤘🏻💫💖 🎸💙🤘🏻-Moderator-🤘🏻💙🎸
