As with the last 2 Ayreon albums, the new one took about 3 listens to sink in. But holy Hell has it clicked since then. This music and sci-fi nerd is well pleased.

Just ordered the Signed copy of this album, can't wait to get it!!! Arjen is one of the few artists where the whole album is good, not only that but who else is doing concept albums anymore? This is an incredible piece of art, I can't imagine writing entire sci-fi stories and at the same time writing hours of brilliant music to go with it, that's a LOT of work! Arjen is my creative hero, hearing his stuff challenges me to push harder and go further.

This reminds me of The Town theme from Zelda

The problem I see in progressive metal is very much visible: The titel describes the general theme which is the dark vision of a near-future doomsday but there are also parts played with a happy-sounding tune which imo makes absolutely no sense.
Apart from that I like this song because although some parts don't seem to fit they don't disrupt the melody too much (not like you would normally think it would) and the darker parts are very well implemented.
