Avett Brothers, The - Offering Lyrics
Babe I'm lost
Cause I don't know what to say
Hmmm I love you
Want to make you my wife someday
Of a young woman's light
To me it's perfect
Just wanna do you right
And I've known others
And I've loved others too
But I loved them cause they were stepping stones
On a staircase to you
Sometimes I act foolish
Please babe try not to judge me
For my offering is true
And I dream of children
We can call our own
Watch 'em run around in the front yard
From the front porch of our home
To me it's perfect
Just wanna do you right

Red rocks on the wall! That is my concert venue for the Avetts, every July!
Brilliant, beautiful, soul crushing awesomeness. Keep saving my life boys. God bless.

Can't make it through this song without choking up a little. I love these guys so much. #Grateful #DadToBe
I often wonder if people with such amazing talent realize just how lucky they are. Are they grateful? Are they proud?
I'm not the 'jealous' type, but man, what wonderful abilities. ;)
Simple, Raw, Beautiful.

My favorite thing about TAB, besides everything, is you can always find something new and magical in their songs. I have had this song in my car for 6 months, JUST REALIZED IT IS AMAZING. My favorite band, ever! Please don't lose your bluegrass and folk sound. We are an Avett Brothers cult!!
I've been listening to them for about a decade and have found myself rediscovering and find new things to love many times over the years. Can't think of any other group that has done that for me. Love em'
Sucks when you thought you had the kind of love that makes someone write a song like this and then...... ya don't. Meh oh well, Avett Bros still rock.
great song...great band.....
I love how his son starts nodding his head when the banjo comes in...hope my son does that someday
🎶🎶I've known others.
I've loved others too.
But, I loved them cause they were stepping stones... on a staircase to you🎶🎶💜
a forever favorite
Outstanding From Tennessee!!!
I have to lol at the camera man standing on a table or something to get this angle. Great song.
How could you dislike this video?
Bobby rockin the fiddle
Lucky Sarah.
Weird seeing somebody besides Crawford play bass in a video he's in
Why, Scott?
These boys make me PROUD to be from Concord NC!!! REAL music like this is what we were raised on....get back to your roots. Love love love TAB
oh, my heart
Took me a sec to realize bobby is playing the violin. Awesome
i wish scott avett was my dad
see the avett brothers in the uk manchester great band
I used to think Bob was being rude and talking during the video until i noticed that he's just telling Paul when to come in
This was our first dance at our wedding. Awkward to dance to, hut we made it work!
This song will definitely be in my wedding in some way.
+KatieBug0815 @ mine too! If it means something to you, it'll always work! :)
This was my wedding song as well because I've always loved the lyrics, but I will never watch the video because I made a fool of myself during the break down (everyone says they loved it but I cringe just thinking about it)
Sweetness in shape of a song =)
"But I loved them cause they were stepping stones
On a staircase to you."
This was a moment of pure music magic captured by Crackerfarm. Ruben needs to go away.
Does anyone know what type of roll Scott uses here?
Really? I feel the new album is dripping with sincere love for family, simple times and their fans. Souls Like the Wheels, Part From Me, Good to You. How can you say these songs are soulless?
Family, Friends, Music, The Avett Brothers.. its perfect
I really can't imagine anything more romantic.
to me... it's perfect!
Can they please go back to this greatness? There new stuff... its jut not the same... I want more of this....
Love this version! Thanks for posting!!
To just sit in this room....
3:20 THAT EYE CONTACT IS PRECIOUS UGH
this is so beautiful It made me tear up
Who is the girl and kids?
Very beautiful. One of the last times I saw Bob he was learning to play fiddle in Hallie's hospital room in Charlotte. I'm glad he kept it going.
...you're typing in spanish...
Brilliant, as always.
and with good reason as well
Family adds to the beauty of this. I always picture my husband singing this to me...too bad he doesn't sound anything like an Avett :)
"But I loved them cause they were stepping stones...on a staircase to you." My favorite lyric from any Avett Brothers song. Super stoked they covered this one for the Crackerfarm crew!!!
One of my most favorite Avett songs ever. This and November Blue.
Happy Birthday Seth!!
I am a huge fan of the Avett Brothers, awesome video. I've become a big time fan of your videos too!
This is wonderful! Thanks, Mike, for giving us a glimpse of Scott, Sarah and the kids. It is so sweet watching Eleanor and Max listening to Daddy sing Mama's song! Uncle Seth, Bob and Mike were, of course, awesome as well! I love these videos!
one of my favorite avett songs. i can't get over this video. love it to pieces. rewind.
Bob wouldn't say it like that.
Bob wouldn't say it like that.
You really need to catch up, lol. Jacob has been out of the band since Dec 2012.

Jacob Edwards is out of the band, Mike Marsh is the new drummer.
I miss you guys. Strumming my pain with your fingers singing my life with your song"
@crackerfarm how about a Jacob Edwards drum solo with a Joe Kwon cello improvisation over it?
Who ever disliked this has no clue... Great job guys!
Every song like a sermon.
love it!
Love the motherly look Sarah gives Eleanor 1:56. Thanks for the video crackerfarm!!!
It makes me feel good to see Scott and his wife give eachother that sweet smile. The songs mean so much more when you can truly believe that the words mean something to them.
Just lovely. I would be so happy if they played this live more often!
Love ya work Bobby boy.
Amazing crackerfarm!
Those babies have no idea how lucky they are
An amazing performance. I hope to see these guys perform live one day.

Sarah was totally scrutinizing Bob's violin work - hah! :)
Thank you thank you!!! Me and my boyfriend's favorite song!
Love, love, love this song. What an awesome recording. Crackerfarm is living my dream.
I love how mesmerised Scott's children look. So well behaved! :)
Never met a Avett Brothers Crackerfarm video I didn't adore, and therefore play a bajillion times.
Joe kwon is still around. Just not in this video.
Kwon gone?
This is so beautiful.
What an amazing song. Every time I see them live I hope they play it, and they never have. Maybe this October will be my lucky month!
