Given that Unearth were a blatant ripoff of the NWOSHM, of course they do.

This is a prime example of the birth of this band. I heard about them I think in 2010 and was meh about it.
Fast forward to their "mainstream" debut and BAM! Great metal band.

I love to see how much they've grown as a band. They're amazing.

No, it's not Tim in the video, I believe that he joined the band just after the album Black Waltz was finished/released. The second guitarist is Simon Andersson, he left the band in 2011 or 2012 !

This is honestly my favourite stuff from Avatar - especially from Schlacht and the self titled album.

Not to say that their newer stuff is bad - far from it in fact. I like how the band have grown and evolved over time.

I prefer their older stuff to be honest - this is by far one of their greatest songs in my opinion

And I completely agree. Schlact is one of my favorite Avatar albums. But I still love their new stuff. Feathers and Flesh is a masterpiece. Completely different from Schlacht or their self titled, but still fantastic.

Yeah definitely, I mean I've let their newer stuff grow on me. I still prefer the old stuff but the new stuff is fantastic. It's different, but it's good different. It's just a shame that they never seem to play any of their old stuff live.

First two albums were Melodic Death and everything since then hasn't been. Still a good band, but I preferred the melodeath Avatar.

I'm actually pretty sad that i never heard of this band before black waltz it's amazing how long they've actually been around "maybe not in america" but as someone said below 4 years ago they would make it someday and boy have they made it now they just need to start headlining more tours. I am just amazed on how perfect they nail everything live and how interactive they are with their shows without a doubt my biggest band crush i've ever had such a great group.

And now, 4 years after you comment, I'm going to finally see them. They're quite amazing now.

Gabrial Hazell False! Johannes is the best part of this band! Everyone else is fantastic too and I love them all, but I do believe that Johannes is the main mastermind behind what we now know as Avatar. They've come a long way though, and he's changed a lot.
