O protagonista (interpretado pelo Tobias Sammet) é uma criatura atormentada, seja pela ausência na correspondência amorosa/sentimental (Scarecrow); seja pela falta da presença de Deus (Let the Storm Descend Upon You). E em ambas as músicas há a figura do Jorn Lande servindo como o Satã, (inimigo/adversário) ou o Mefistófeles, visto que Sammet é alemão, deve ter lido Goethe.


Em ambas as músicas o protagonista vê-se tentando a cometer suicídio e é incentivado pelo demônio a fazer isso.

It would increase value if the cast performed the songs in front of green screen backgrounds of epic settings in costume, sort of a Jesus Christ Superstar type dance/vocal performance. Toby would get to wear his tights, and "fly" like Peter Pan, just for kicks. No offense, but audio alone is not that gratifying, at least not as gratifying as a musical number. You need to up the ante of entertainment value contained in an album. I need to see the songs acted out.

Este disco, tem alguns bons momentos, mas ele é notavelmente mais fraco que o antecessor, para mim, ele deveria ser uma historia diferente, o The Mistery of Time é perfeito se analisado como uma obra individual, as canções conversam uma com a outra, existe um sentimento de unidade muito forte entre elas. E neste disco é tudo muito disperso, como uma coletânea.

This is my favorite song. I have the lyrics memorized and sing it to myself all the time. 8:34 takes my breath away and kills me every time (in the best possible way). I think the song's about experiencing an intense spiritual/divine storm of enlightenment involving a direct connection with the dream world (I think Tobi calls it the spirit world in an interview somewhere) and not being quite able to process it all but wanting to try.

Fantastic buildup, makes me want to sing along the entire time. That chorus though, not a huge fan of the "Shine your light into the darkness" part. Not that it's a bad thing to say, but to me it feels like they could've been catchier there. Maybe it sounds better live, I will look.

"You're off to the light" means the light is where you are headed to or going towards. "Estás yendo hacía la luz" es lo que está diciendo.

"I'm he who has always been" significa "yo soy el que ha existido desde siempre".

Un "mantlepiece" es una parte de la chimenea -dentro de tu casa- que ayuda a expandir la luz del fuego y por ende calor; es como un deflector y sirve como un estante de pared pequeño al mismo tiempo. Se lo utiliza por lo general en tierras gélidas.

"Strung-out" tiene diferentes significados pero en este caso es estar cansado/exhausto por addicción a las drogas. Es estar tan drogado que sigues "voladote" a pesar de que los efectos de la droga han menguado.
