I love when a band that has success experiments and changes course in their music, similar to what Opeth has done. Even if ABR is somewhat copying what BTBAM does all the time.

not really digging the lack of melody in this newer stuff.. rescue and restore was their best work but rock on i guess.

Definitely a different vibe from them, I love ABR but sometimes their stuff does sound kind of similar and start to run together. Would be sick if they did a really dark sounding album

@DimeBag Darrell they do. They always used the same scales and the riffs could almost all be summed up to 0-5-8 with couple 4s and 7s there on occasion. The last album they went the lazy route and wrote the exact same style but used the major scale instead to make it happier lol. Not hating on the band, been listening to the for some time but got really bored with the last 2 records.

EZ Assegai they’ve matured a lot since thrill seeker, go listen to their older records and you’ll hear the lyric maturation and riffs change and different drumming patterns, they’ve pushed the boundaries for could and can be considered “ metalcore” so id do a bit more listening before I say they’ve gotten lazy, they’ve been busting their butts to create these records, they had some salsa sounded breaks in leveler and in found in far away places, had a lot of instrumentals breaks, whereas messengers felt attacking and punishing, from the riffs to the breakdowns, go listen to all they have. If they were lazy they wouldn’t put out a shit ton music.

@DimeBag Darrell dude , I have listened to them since their first ep. I know very well how the progressed. The only progression they had was from the first ep to the first album and then they wrote the same albums until now.

that’s crazy man i went to a between the buried and me concert in st louis in probably 2008 and that was the night i discovered abr who opened for them. they blew me away and have never disappointed since.

You guys are my favorite metal band! Glad you guys still rock it!
