I like almost all of Atreyu's music, but this just doesnt appeal to me. Im not really into fast screaming and stuff like this, but i do listen to a lot heavier stuff than this. In my opinion, I think they're stuff from Suicide notes and butterfly kisses to congregation of the damned is better, but thats just my opinion. And for the people who think theyre just trying to please everyone and theyre mainstream, theyre not. no one wants to make the same album and songs over and over again

@FIELDOFSPIKES No. I think "Suicide notes and butterfly Kisses" and "The Curse" was Atreyu's best, including their second EP. I hate how people say "Visions EP or Lead Sails Paper Anchor, pick one!" because there was the Atreyu in between but I agree, Lead Sails Paper Anchor was not their best.

Atreyu was an indie post-hardcore band for until they were signed by victory. Their first 2 EPs were very much punkhardcore (which this song is on). They got heavier and more metalcore after that.

this whole "sound changes" thing is bullshit. okay probably alex got better at screaming you can tell it gets cleaner throughout the albums from practicing. sure i can deal with that. what i cant deal with is the face that atreyu goes from "Who died in the systematic process that we call life..each failure is so symbolic of what's past and what yet left to be" THIS to legit just repeating a chorus 10 times to drill 5 line phrases into listeners heads. thats what i call SELL OUT. these from the old stuff are awesome but i think they'd love to be more popular with nicer songs like lead sails and lose it.
i think both fuckin rule but the old stuff's fans should understand why are they always changing in their music. now that the gay drummer sings too they became softer floating away from the metalcore fans to the (post-)hardcore fans trying to keep the fans of their old songs with doomsday and can't happen here.
