Not sure why they have so much shit for Lead Sails and Congregation, they were both really amazing albums. I like the others as well and am not sure why everyone hates the newer ones...they're awesome

I agree that being more heavy doesn't necessarily mean better, but I find Atreyu at their best when it comes to just raw aggression. Lead Sails was just such a huge departure.. a few good songs, but even a song like Blow feels comparatively weak. The whole album was just a misstep to me. I feel like Congregation gets a bad wrap though, it was a damn good album and much heavier than Lead Sails.

I couldn't agree more. I enjoy Atreyu's body of work as a whole but Lead Sails Paper Anchor is by far my favorite. Sure, it wasn't super hard but every band should experiment and progress as a group and they did well in that regard. Congregation is another great one.

I don't think these guys have a single bad album. I thought Lead Sails and Congregation were both extremely strong albums. This track in particular I think is one of their best songs, period.

@TYFLOL Oh alright then. Yeah their old stuff is straight out metalcore... Trust me I've been listening to them since I was like 4 I think. Their next album (coming up) should go back to their roots so you'll hopefully see :) or look up their older stuff (Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses, The Curse, A Death-Grip On Yesterday were the first and best 3)

Metal is actually pretty popular. Just look at how many entries metal fests sell. (and its not as if all metal enjoyers went there, i never did...yet)
The media likes to show how aweful and outcasts it makes us though. Well, I think its getting better for that too.
Also, metalheads tend to be much more dedicated to their music than those who listen to pop. That being said, I enjoy some pop every now and then. Although if i come upon shit like Nicki Minaj I need Bloodbath or any other proper cure

I can't fully agree with that though, but none the less pop IS more popular then metal, since metal liking people usually are shut outs or get bullied.

Then again, most people who listen to pop are afraid to get bullied and go with the flow like the little turds they are.

But the shelf life for most "pop" artists is at most 5-7 years compared to metal bands who have 10-20 years or possibly longer
