Atreyu - Demonology And Heartache Lyrics
So unaffectionate, so insecure
You claim to know a thing or two about heartache
And what it's like to have your insides torn out
And I believe you
I see it every time your pallbearer's palor is obscured by the darkness
I know what it's like when memories make you wince
And love letters read like obituaries
And photo albums are the books of the dead
I need no reminders, no more reminders
I'll forget the past and lay it to rest
If I had my way
I'd cut the calluses off your breaking heart
If I could get past the sternum
Cauterize those wounds with
I'm holding your heart in my hand
The reason it still beats
Am I being too cryptic?
Am I being too obscure?
Love kills, romance is dead
And I don't even trust myself
But I love you
And you can pull my wings apart
And pin me down under glass
Until the end of days if it can help you
Discover that we share the same pain
I just hope you write your thesis
Before your subject is dead
No life after death

Atreyu Demonology And Heartache Comments
This song was the one that made fall in love with atreyu favorite band since I was 11 now 25
same here, im 28 and discovered them when i was 15. changed my life.
Man, I'm in my early 30s but this song bring out the angsty 16 year old that clearly still lies inside. A mix of joyful memories and crippling nostalgia.
No life after death!!
2019 and still blaring this long underappreciated song 🤘
Solo malumas y bobo bonys no le dan like a este pedazo de rola !!!
Excelente! Comecei cedo com Atreyu, só agora percebo e entendo a grandeza das letras......
Sound quality is shit
Will always my favorite song.
Good shit man
Is it just me or does that opening riff sound kinda like throes of perdition by trivium
I'm curious how many people are still jamming this in 2018 and realize how woke Atreyu truly are with this song
12 year old me just didn't grasp how amazing the lyrics are
I’m so broken hearted. I want someone to sing this song to me. Such a shredder.
I love your loneliness, you are so pretty and love your sad smile, you heart deserved something Better than a simple human song, you are so perfect my love
Thanks <3
havent heard this song in years but i can still sing along to it
I grew up to this song
years without listening it...
Dan and Travis are really killing it in this song btw. The guitar work in the back during the last 2 choruses is fantastic.
Daniel Ritchie just amazing! I swear... i thought i was the only person that noticed it..
Great tune even though I do believe in an afterlife.
love kills romance is dead, and i dont even trust my self but i love you, you can pull my wings part and pin them under glass until the end of days....amazing lyrics, and what i am going through right now in my relationship.
Best song and album of
This genre . Ever.
@Shinethelight I agree I had a friend get me into atreyu with suicide notes, but it wasn't until the cure I dove head on and honestly deathgrip, wasn't that bad I like it but again in that album you can hear the slow slide to where they are now.... how ever not to say they defined at mid to late 2000's becuase my highschool run was 05-09 and I enjoyed it with atreyu, all that remains and bullet for my Valentine!!🤘🤘
This and Waking the Fallen are top tier for Metalcore albums.
Matt McSherry Agreed
So, did you check out the playlist? ;)
@Matt McSherry Add in The Poison and you've got the three albums that essentially forged the majority of my music taste for the naughties
ALL THE WUMPUMS DEAD?!?!? SAY IT AIN'T SO.
Loooove this album <3
it's kinda a sad song really. maybe a sad love song
+Brandon Segler Was it to cryptic? maybe a little obscure?
+BlazzedTroll hahahahagahahag
+Kayla Godfrey so long ago
it absolutely is.
well. I didint really die but I have faith
how would u know unless u died. of course there is life
hahahahahahhahahahahahahaahahhaa³
Wake up fool
How can you ask how someone could know, and then immediately claim to know, all in the same sentence?
So sick. Nostalgic as hell and making new memories off it still
NO LIFE AFTER DEATH <3
I almost died at this part when i saw them live, LIVE LOVE BURN DIE was kinda hard to survive in the pit too.
@Die Blumis I wish that was true.
@Matthew Heart How do you know?
For everyone's ex seems to be the treading comments on this song and others like it. Those who leave such crap comments strike me as those who have to cut themselves just to feel. Hahahaha. LOSERS.
@Jessica Chavez You understand nothing of this song. You shouldn't even be here.
She must just be here to aggravate people, there's only one person who even mentioned a relationship
Ads are REALLY counter intuitive. i'm at an atreyu song for a reason, why the hell is there a Lady Antebellum ad.
2 years ago or, not guess what not everyone listens to the same fucking genre. I happen to listen to shit like this and country. so ADs aren't necessarily "counter intuitive" as you put it.
you must be great at marketing
Of course, they realize that people listen to this _and_ garbage.
For me ex...
i want this song played at my funeral
Comment
