I seen atomship at the Mississippi gulf coast Coliseum in 05. Seether was the headliner. There was 7 bands that night and it was amazing. Met Joey and got a personal autograph from him

Boy. I have not seen him in well over a decade. Heard an two year old interview from a pod cast last month. He’s still working. Give them hell boy. Keep trying and screw the critics. And if your ever passing through the old neighborhood I can be found. No cameras dude.

2019 and still amazing. I still turn people onto this CD. This band has had hard luck, first with the original guitarist Nathan Slade passing away and awhile back Joey Culver had a heart attack. I see someone doing something with some of these songs one day maybe a movie or something.

So I can be happy again** lol

Yea it is. But with their past, and back story, I'm surprised we got the one we got. Such a unique and 1 of a kind past. I feel for these guys honestly.

I thought they released under their other band name Watership Down and AtomshipDown.

I guess the singer has a band called papercut. And they just reunited with the late guitarists brother on guitar.

Chad is his own animal that is for sure. By far my biggest influence musically of all time. Trying to imitate his style has really helped think out side of the box when it comes to my drumming.

Ya know, it is funny to me. I have been in the market for some new music and I came across this band when I was reading an old issue of Modern Drummer Magazine from '04. I know they're not new by year standards but they are new to me because I have never heard them before until a couple of weeks ago. This band kicks fucking ass. The critic in the magazine was acclaiming the drummer (Chad Kent) for having qoute-"a good feel, is technically awesome, and delivers plenty of "wow" fills."". He couldn't be more right. This drummer is definitely technically awesome and more "wow" fills than I could ever want. Plus one to anyone who like this band. Kind of a shame their Crash of '47 CD sells for $30 on Amazon but I must admit it's almost worth damn near every penny. Would love to hear this album on some New vinyl.

this cd is hands down one of the greatest ever. yes I said greatest. music is my life. the drummer is fucking SICK AS HELL. can anyone tell me why they are no more. Chris Adler and Chad my absolute favorites. just wish I could find more music by him

+Alicia Perkins The singer on this album was a temp, so there's that (He went on to Papercut Massacre)... but the biggest would be Nathan Slade passing (Guitarist). I got to see these guys live (first time I'd heard them, Didn't pay much attention until Mothra, then I coudln't look away) and Nathan was awesome enough to sign my CD I bought from them. And yes, I agree, this album is without a doubt a masterpiece.

+Alicia Perkins If you like drumming albums, I would highly recommend 'Sound Awake' by Karnivool, 'Silent Machine' by Twelve Foot Ninja, and one my personal favorites; 'Lateralus' by TOOL.

Hung out with these guys at the 105 club in jackson ms. Wife got sick , didnt get to see the show, had to sit outside and listen to it but they rocked! Chad is the best drummer i have ever herd and i know cuz i am one!

I was at that show too! Chad is still the best drummer I've ever been 10 feet away from during a show. Skills wise he's every bit as good as any drum hero level drummer I've ever seen. Danny Carey, Herb Alexander, Brann Dailor; Chad is every bit as technically talented but he's stylistically himself. That's all you can ever hope for as a musician.

@mackaus1 I actually believe, with no denial of chikendoodad's opinion, that it may actually have more to do with love as a battle. Dancing is considered a cousin of fighting because both involve strategy with an opponent. When they say that pure blood is dripping away they talk of innocence of love being lost because of war and how they thought it would prevail but it slipped away or died. Love tends to cause more pain and loss, whether intentional or not. Mothra battles for good...

@Cystlib What? You repeated exactly what I just said. I LIKE Tool and I kno who they r I listen to them all the time. By not being a "Tool enthusiast" I meant I don't obsess over them but I like them alot. Yeah you can totallllyyyyyy see traces of Tool in this band, but no one believes meh :( haha

@cheezyandgreasy Tool is not a "Kill the family, eat your face" band. And they're neither nu-metal, they don't shout much either. And for as far as I know, Tool have a pretty unique sound, inspiring this band for example :P

@BDean97 Yeah Isis sounds a lot like Tool, only more atmospheric. I don't think Cult of Luna sounds like Tool though. Karnivool and Cire are two other bands that sound like Tool, you should check them out (although they're not post-metal, more prog rock/metal).
