Atomship - Aliens Lyrics

I am the alien.
Sitting on my front porch step.
Whittling without a care.
Sitting in this rocking chair.

I am the alien!

We are the aliens.
Standing here with our hands down.
Whittling without a care.
Sitting by this rocking chair.

We are the aliens!

Sitting and waiting and waiting and watching and watching and waiting cause I am the alien.
Wishing and hoping and hoping and praying and praying and hoping that we are the aliens.
Hold me down to the floor.
Chains and whips you wish for more.
Hold me down to the floor.
Cause we are the aliens!

What an amazing band this was. I guess the singer couldn't mesh with the band. I believe they went on as Atomshipdown. Whoever made this happen was brilliant . This release was/is very addictive . Chad is bad ass on the drums ... This went under the radar or over people's heads I will never know but this release will stay with me for life. Seen them once in Columbus met them drank vodka etc.. Anyhow they shouldve stuck around for release number 2. No matter who is to blame you all created a brilliant piece of music.

    K.... B....

Kevin Baker I was lucky enough to make a purchase of their CD back in the early 2000s. Its funny because I made a total slip up in my purchase because I meant to buy an audioslave album or kaybe it was Radiohead I'm not sure... At any rate I for some reason mistook my intended purchase for this album and was too mad to even listen to it at first.

    K.... B....

Killendel, as Bob Ross would say, that was a happy accident.

  25. N.... H....

    @JadeXsober

Lots of bands use signal processors on vocals, lots of drummers do rolls, and Tool doesn't use any blastbeats. I compared it to 1940s jazz to convey to you how silly your comparison was, so naturally my intention was for it to be an absurd comparison.

You're complaining for the sake of complaining, mate. umad? Little butthurt? Take it up on my channel wall, bro. My subs could use the giggles. ^_^

  26. N.... H....

    @JadeXsober

I'm lost as to how these guys sound anything like Tool. There's a guitar, drums, bass, and a vocalist, any other similarities? An odd time signature? Well, then almost all 1940s jazz sounds like Tool.

  27. S.... ....

@JadeXsober Bullshit their drummer is amazing

  28. J.... T....

@jackofblades100 i seen em live back when this CD came out with drowning pool and flaw.. they were so good and energetic live and little did i know how good they actually were till the band split.

  29. j.... ....

@skincrawl25 Totally man! I completely agree. They bring out more feeling than anything by Tool that i've heard (just to comment on whitedevil121's comment too). Any song you can get into this much, and with all of Atomship's songs, makes me want to eat, breathe, and sleep Atomship.

  30. J.... G....

    sounds so good!
    yeaahhhh. .

  31. a.... ....

This band is just killer. There drummer is from another planet!

  32. b.... ....

Like Ive said on other videos....those drums are just baffling at points. I wanna see chad kent actually play this song so badly.

    b.... ....

I have..blew my mind. Has an alien doll on the top hats..great guy also

  33. P.... ....

Atomship is coming back as Watership Down consisting of Derek Pardoe, Chad Kent, and Jesse Duncan.

  34. S.... ....

    Such an amazing song.

  35. v.... ....

@spanatko More is on the way in the form of Watership Down. Look up Come Back.

  36. M.... S....

this band is toxic, barely known, pockets like 90% of renowned bands out there, Tool relieved i guess, very strong material, beyond compare with most of things, love the album, good stuff is mostly rare. Makes me wish for more.

  37. T.... ....

Damn....3:13 to the end is just INSANE!

  38. J.... D....

Lars sucks dude, like really sucks

  39. M.... a....

"I don't need another Tool/Deftones/Chevelle rip off band"

Errmm none of those bands are even in the same category as each other...Nevermind adding this one to the list...

  40. W.... ....

Atomship is one of the best bands ever. Saw them back in 2004 with FLAW and have loved them more everyday since. Papercut Massacre is the singers new band by the way. Check em out if you dont have em

  41. p.... ....

    This is greate

  42. p.... ....

    R.I.P. Nathan Slade

  43. i.... ....

some people say that Chad's drumming is best on Mothra, but I disagree completely. He blows it away with Aliens.

  44. m.... ....

Looks like your building a whole army of I's >.>

Disturbed is not mainstream unless being unique is mainstream. Anyways i agree Atomship is a more tallented band (exception on the guitarist) But deffinatly more unique.

  45. B.... H....

dude the fact that you would use disturbed's popularity as evidence for their superiority, sort of rules out anything else you could say, because that is such a dumb thing to say

  46. B.... H....

hahaha ok funnybunnypissed you need to go die. You have no clue. People like you are wasting my oxygen. Fuck off. Atomship is far superior to disturbed. Disturbed is a commercial mainstream deal. Any one who agrees with me, post "I"

  47. R.... C....

No way dude, Disturbed doesn't have as much creativity as Atomship. Don't get my wrong, Disturbed is good and all but Atomship is just way more talented.

  48. j.... ....

funnybunnypissed is not only a SHITTY name BUT...you're taste buds are ONLY in you're MOUTH!!! You're taste in music..as a WHOLE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!

  49. R.... ....

    what's goin' on with you???
How can you compare disturbed to atomship???

  50. E.... P....

dude Disturbed has quite a bit of ...inconsistent songs ..if you wanna hear a good band listen to demon hunter Or FearFactory :) OR EVEN SPINESHANK but not their first album unless u like ''weird'' songs lol.

  51. E.... P....

Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strength." Eric Hoffer

  52. D.... P....

    Alright then.

Thanks for your time. : )

  53. E.... P....

thats all folks o.o i got way too much to do to debate about stuff i shouldnt even be saying online..lol. time for people good song by this and i just heard Friends its pretty good :)

  54. E.... P....

what if i told you i hit the ground on 3 different dates and prayed for it to rain right afther i did it..rained...
and i dreamed i wud be in a train crash ... months later it happened...how could i prove that to you if its something ive felt and seen and know but no1 else knows... like i said before... Your like a dog with a bone: u know in the movies where the Guy1 has guy2 tied up and he beats him for information guy2 knows nothing..but Guy1 doesnt believe him cuz he wants the upperhand.

  55. D.... P....

But, I'm open to having my mind changed, and being proven incorrect.

I'm like a dog, begging for a bone... a bone being good evidence to support ANY supernatural claim.

  56. D.... P....

I know I'm wasting my time, but idc. It is interesting to hear random peoples justifications for their beliefs is all.

Now, I'm not trying to prove to you that a god doesn't exist... In fact, I cannot do so. However, I do believe that a belief in a god is unjustified.

You can prove to me that a god exists, uh, over the internet would be harder, but you could give me an example of something supernatural happening, that proves that a god exists, and the supernatural thing must be tested.

  57. D.... P....

Lol... The sky isn't blue save for when it is sunny out. When the light hits the gas molecules in the atmosphere, that causes the sky to reflect mostly blue light. So at night, or other times in the day, as well as near the horizon, the sky is not blue.... so I don't know what you mean. Or, I guess I know what you mean, but it isn't worded right.

  58. D.... P....

So, you're non-denominational. K, was just wanting that cleared up.

Are you claiming that when you ask this "thing" for it to rain, or tell you your future, it happens? If so, I would be skeptical, and would require a scientific test showing that these things occur for me to be convinced of it. I like to base my beliefs on evidence. xD.

  59. E.... P....

wow.. like i didnt know biological things have genes? i wasnt implying all things are made out of genes, i was just saying that the god i believe in...the only god.. is the first being and the creator of all. then you had to ask if god had to begin like everything else..that would be obvious ...no1 knows.. its a belief not a proven fact, got it?

  60. E.... P....

but you dont see my point your just aruging against them
its like if i told you the sky is blue you would say but the space beyond that is black so the sky is black...but no im talking about the sky not space.

if you were really smart you wouldnt keep posting on videowebsite and find a chatroom to find your barings into the knowledge of religious people.
your like a dog with a bone and you know it...i cant prove to you there is a god anymore than you can prove to me there isnt 1.

  61. E.... P....

my belief in the creator of all things..
not MY GOD, cause im not standing by 1 faith saying all others are wrong
i am an induvidual that believes in a higher power
..if i told you i could ask god to make it rain and it rains...or i see my future..would you believe me? No, cause they're facts in your reality
but they are in mines just like your philosophy Ockhams Razor has no fact basis..its just a principle that you believe in as others do.

It's easy to turn words around when your smart..

  62. D.... P....

I think the answer you need here is: "Abiogenesis". Where mere chemistry (atoms, energy, molecules interacting) can produce a self-replicating gene, and that gene can go on to replicate itself for a long time, eventually due to random mutations, genetic drift, and natural selection produce all the organisms we see today.

  63. D.... P....

What other tools could I use to understand ANYTHING about the universe? Logic is a critical tool for any and all understanding.

"PHILOSOPHY is a perceptive fact: god made perception "

That is merely an assertion until you have evidence to back it up.

Plus, do think that God created logic? What of the logical absolutes? Do you think it possible for God to do the logically impossible?

  64. D.... P....

I'm saying that I must be convinced that a claim is true before I can start believing that the claim is correct. "Convinced" meaning: to come to accepting a claim as being true.

Saying that: I can't believe something as being true if I don't believe it is likely true. (Duh lol)

  65. D.... P....

Well, when I say "your god" I'm referring to your belief in a god that, you believe in, or do you think that everyone believes in the same god that you believe in?

  66. D.... P....

Furthermore, simply lacking a good understanding in a certain area of science does not give one the ability to stick any suitable idea in that gap and say that it is correct. This is what is called an "argument from ignorance", and it's a logical fallacy.

Numbers don't "exist", they are just a way for humans to understand the universe. Plus, only biological things have genes (though one could say that other things can store information like a gene, i.e. harddrives).

  67. D.... P....

"no1 knows what started the big bang".

That depends on your definition of "knowledge", and "start". When you say that, are you assuming that there are no hypotheses explaining how everything got started? As there are several in fact. When you are talking of absolutes, obviously we as a species know very little "absolutely".

  68. E.... P....

what do you know of god if you dare not to look pass your logic to see the infinite possibilities ahead and behind Ockhams Razor?

When two competing hypotheses explain the data equally well, choose the simpler.
    Occam's Razor philosophy,--
The English philosopher, William of Occam (1300-1349)

the fewer assumptions an explanation of a phenomenon depends on, the better it is.

-Do you really think god needs to suit to your logical needs?- PHILOSOPHY is a perceptive fact: god made perception

  69. E.... P....

no1 knows what started the big bang
and well i have my own opinions: ''let there be light''. God is the divine being way smarter than you and me and the whole planet put together...thats my belief, god had a trillion billion years to make numbers and genes to program all the little traits of every being /plant/gas/liquid in existence.

he is not ''my god'' he is the one true god the creator of all things..thats what i believe.
im not clinging to a book and saying all other books are wrong.

  70. E.... P....

there is no true fact to base your answer upon besides this one: for a being/creature/animal to evolve..it must first be created...a egg cant create itself so i believe its the chicken that came first ''mate''.

(unless you wanna believe the creature evolved til 1 of its eggs became a chicken....like i said no true fact to base thee answer upon.
cause no1 was there to record the happening
    except god? )

  71. E.... P....

i said im not here to convice you..so you can go on about this in your mind or on youtube for ages but it doesnt change the fact that im not guna debate with you to convince you of something you choose not to believe in.

Just because i do choose to believe in it doesn't mean you need too.

btw wtf are you even trying to say here? u need to be convinced that god existed and created the universe by true facts.. before you stand by the possibility of believing in god?

  72. D.... P....

Bringing up the "what started the Big Bang?" could be rephrased as "what started the start?". It is redundant. Plus, you are forced to followup by asking, what came before God? You can say: "God always existed, he doesn't have a beginning." but that can easily be countered by saying: "The universe always existed in some state or another." and that counter is simpler, and therefore more likely than a god, via the method of Ockhams Razor.

  73. D.... P....

In the 'chicken or the egg' analogy, I take it that a god would be the chicken, and natural causes would be the egg, as an egg could be seen as simpler than a full grown chicken, a god being more complex than 'simple' quantum physics.

I posit that it was the egg that came first. Complexity can, and does arrive from simplicity all the time, and the simplest answer is most likely true as it relies on fewer assumptions about reality.

  74. D.... P....

I don't choose to believe something, I must be convinced that a claim is true based on whatever criteria I'm using.

  75. E.... P....

Im not here to convince you of anything its your choice to believe.... Which came first...the egg or the chicken? ...you figure it out.

Scientists dont know what started the big bang...
and they have determined that ..the term ''nothing'' is wrong cause everything is made out of something.
Air, Matter... everything you look at and feel and ..cant feel is made of out something.

  76. D.... P....

    Somewhat off-topic but anyway:
You start off with the premise that everything must start, to have a beginning to its existence, and then you refute your own premise in the very argument by saying that a god, your god, need not a beginning. Either everything requires a beginning; or not everything requires a beginning. Which is it?

  77. E.... P....

god is real friend.. everything has to come from somewhere i believe in the creator of all things ...
not ppl that pretend they are higher beings
whats the point believing in such simple minded reasons:as if there is nothing that created everthing...that is just stupid.
PS: it is spelt here not hear(that is for your ears.)

  78. b.... B....

    LOL LOL LOL LOL

    Search for GOD dude

  79. S.... ....

    Nice. I really like it.
