Ataris, The - From The Last, Last Call Lyrics
Here's a long evasive story
Of failed hopes and glories
Old chandeliers and scratched out 45's
Some hands for my procession
And a couple drunk confessions
No lie, no lie, no lie...
Believe me when I say
That I'm trying hard today
But I'm not right, no, I'm not right
Tell me it's not true
I would never lie to you
I'm not right, no, I'm not right
Maybe you will see it wasn't meant to be
But it's not me...
The sins of the faithful
The luxuries of regret
And its a faithless
To have no loss tragedies
An acted up rectification
With all the best intentions
Smite me for my inquietudes,
No lie, no lie, no lie...
Cant believe you say
That you're better of this way
But I'm not right, no, I'm not right
Tell me what you see when you still look at me
I'm not right, no, I'm not right
I'm sorry when I say I'm still holding on today
And will you forgive me
When I found out I was stray
On the outskirts of the room
Doubled up on angel dust
There crying on my knees
For some god to come
And save this lifeless soul
And my ghost will wrap this words
As you cry yourself to sleep
I'm not right, no, I'm not right
I never want to know what I'm capable of
I'm not right, no, I'm not right
Tell me its not true, but I will not believe you
I'm not right, no, I'm not right
Maybe you will see that it wasn't meant to be
But it's not me...

One Tree Hill Season 4 Episode 14
Forever .
Onde tree Hill .
love this album, has soo much emotion in it!
One Tree Hill!!
ahah true :-)
I think the Ataris and Nicki Minaj should switch the amount of success they have with the amount of success they deserve
this is the most under-rated album ever. It features so many great details in all the song, and it is a synthesis of most of the things I like in music: there are great guitar riffs and energy as well as haunting scenarios, and post-rock influences...Love this album and this is one of my fav tunes off it
why does his voice sound so much different on this album?
one word to describe this album : MATURE.
nobody clicked the 'dislike' button! yay!
@uselessidguy331 a lot of things hurt this record. 1) it was never supposed to be released under the "Ataris" name 2) Columbia basically shit a brick because they wanted another Don Henley cover. 3) After tons of delays and no promotion on it at all, plus essentially alienating all of the fanbase they picked up with Astoria, it's no wonder that the album "failed."
The band seemed reluctant to play stuff from it recently but they pulled this one out for us in Orlando a few months back
i dont know what to think about their new stuff, it's so much differnt compared to their previous work. when i first heard it, i didnt even think it was Kris Roe singing. i like it still, it's just not the The Ataris i had grown to love
kindaa sad really :/

favorite song from the album.. this one AND act V, scene IV :)
loving it over and over again
This stuff reminds me a bit of Tim Kasher's band The Good Life, has the same sort of feeling to me. All the same, that music is underrated too despite the brilliant lyrics and edgy music. . .and of course Kasher's lyrics.
*sighsigh* just not quite there according to popular opinion, I guess. For me, I love it.
I thought that "The Cheyenne Line" would have been the biggest hit, but this, too, would have been pretty huge. Honestly, there was nothing wrong with "Not Capable of Love"; another tremendous song, people just didn't take to it for some reason.
Such an underrated album, and I cannot understand the disdain for the different direction Kris Roe took the band. Welcome the Night (along with all the B-sides; Oh, Kansas City is one of his best songs ever) is probably my all-time favorite album.
oh my god, i die a little bit everytime i hear this.. its just great! the whole album is F A N T A S T I C, kudos to you from Venezuela
great song
Underrated CD ... this one is priceless!
why he sings with another tune of voice???? i miss his old voice.
