At The Drive-In - Catacombs Lyrics

Lark throated spit through beaks tonight
These gagging chirps were written in disguise
What's that sound?
Caskets floating

Hey you, did you ever intend to sleep inside my tomb
And you would you ever attempt to kick from inside this womb
Hey you, would you ever attempt the excavation of these fossils
And in case you haven't noticed, we're already dead

This gravity is a quadriplegic horse and carriage
This gravity is a quadriplegic horse and carriage
This gravity is a quadriplegic horse and carriage

Pendulum swing through tantrum slits
This scalpel's gaze untamed won't feel romantic
What's that sound?
Caskets floating
In laymen's terms sewn through matrimony

Hey you, did you ever intend to
Hey you, did you ever intend to
Hey you, did you ever intend to
Hey you...

This gravity is a quadriplegic horse and carriage
This gravity is a quadriplegic horse and carriage

What's that sound coming?
What's that sound I hear coming?

This gravity is a quadriplegic horse and carriage

  17. Spencer Christie

    best song on the album

    CandaEH

    What about cosmonaut?

  18. Matthew Wright

I first heard this on a sample Plea for Peace: Vol 2. Obviously, the sample had great songs on it. Not sure if they ever raised enough funds to pay for world peace...I'll look into it and report back.

    Zen Den

    I'll double you on that.

    Nico Lauren

Me too. Opened up my ears to a bunch of new music as a teenager

  19. Atom Manhattan

    One of my favorite albums

  20. Visions of Madness

Most energetic live band I've ever seen.

    Hidden Wiki

I've seen a lot of great LIVE show bands.... this is one, I've only heard of. I've seen The Mars Volta. Wish I could have caught these guy's in ... 1996 -2001 <3

    Joseph Rudowicz

@Hidden Wiki I was 15 when I first heard them. Wish they were the first band I ever heard.

  21. Bastiolo48

Probably the loudest song I know. Also one of the best that I know.

    Dig Boss

@Bastiolo48 are you a mad scientist?

    Bastiolo48

@diggen pigeon MUUUHAHAHAHAHAA! I see my reputation precedes me! *gets out phone from pocket* It's me. They recognize me everywhere. We had better come up with a new alias. El Psy Kongroo.

    Opus Culpa

Bastiolo48 You wanna hear loud? You should listen to Dillinger Escape Plan

    CandaEH

    What about Cosmonaut?

  26. PacManTheSoulEater

I would like to think that the people that listen to this music aren't complete dicks, the chat shows me otherwise.

    cooliofoolio

    You're not alone :+

  27. Julian Ferrier

Think about what ya did here

  28. Julian Ferrier

    Shut up

  29. nick s

Because you are so uneducated, I will provide a definition for imbecile: The world would be better off if you did not reproduce (that means have children, dumbfuck).

  30. nick s

You are correct. I am gay because you misspelled a word. If you want to be taken seriously, learn how to spell and write, imbecile.

    black spring

strict adherence to the conventions of spelling and grammar are marks of the authoritarian personality and also most often racist. i.e. it doesn't fucking matter how the person said it if you can figure out what they meant.

    ArcArsenal998

@black spring Did you just say spelling words correctly makes you a racist? Ahaaha

  31. SONICgokuverine

    It's Beiber! Get him!

  32. nick s

No, but I have attempted the excavation of these fossils.

  33. asspants101

    i agree

  34. asspants101

hey you, did you ever attemp the excovasion of these fossiles

  35. arqueotm

    @kjuyhfklujhkuyf

I'm telling you what I'm telling you, dude. You missed the whole fucking point, too.

  36. arqueotm

    @kjuyhfklujhkuyf

Bro that's not really...cool. That's not a good justification, to just say it has a "different meaning." You can think of several other vulgar slurs that you can claim you're using under a "different meaning," but the connotations are the same. Just, fucking, cut that shit out. Listen to the music or something. ATDI is all about equal opportunity. You should be too.

  37. NahzBio117

@killerfist97 He isn't autotuned, hating ass bitch.

  38. Christopher Craddock

I'm rediscovering this band. I remember they were on Grand Royale.. the Beastie Boy label. anyway a post-humous comment but they're effing great.. thanks for the ul

  39. ridetheskies86

This is really nagging at me but the guitar at 0:44 got messed up during the upload or something. It's sped up and out of sync before the other instruments come in. Otherwise, fantastic song. Wish it would have been originally on the North American release (along with Extracurricular). Hopefully these guys play a few shows other than Coachella!

  40. Sean Snyder

@dahmer09 If you weren't there when they were going on, you may never understand...

  41. Nik Jennings

These guys seem really overrated to me. I am trying to give them a chance.

    Jesher Presigo

Nik Jennings maybe they're just not for you, fam. I love them to pieces and have been listening to them almost constantly for ten years, but there are plenty of bands I hate that people rock out to their whole lives. I don't think they're overrated, because they really weren't THAT successful. It's just that the people who love it love it profoundly. Same deal with any form of metal, progressive, experimental, folk or world music. Good music isn't meant to please everyone all the time. As long as one person feels more alive listening to a song, then I think that song is good in its own right.

  42. H G

    I dont remember this song
    and I thought I was a fan?

  43. shelbymonstaa

They're back!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAH I wanna rip my eyeballs out I'm so happy

  44. K8 Le Gr8

idk why the top comment mentions beiber & autotune in comparison of at the drive-in......gtfo. no need for mentioning such trash here. beiber is def not a band & neither is anyone who uses autotune...

  45. Kyler Findlay

Who the Fucks Beiber? In my World theres No Such Fuck-Up! Theres Only Hardcore!

  46. IEatTacosForDinner

    @Oneupsalesman Why yes, it is.

  47. Maximiliano Garcia

once a while I like to look at my money and think about At the drive in.

    Jesher Presigo

Maximiliano Garcia I bet someone has gone on paid vacation at least once while listening to them.

  48. BalrogTheRed

    @MrJumentous
    LOL. I suck at spelling.

  49. I Hate Meowself

Autotune's pretty cool every once in a while.

  50. BalrogTheRed

@retrohippie Dude your a little too late. I said that a year ago

  51. TheMessybessy

    @ChuckMulholland i did?

  52. Afroblack379

and still havent even begun to work with dissonance. my guitar work means nothing. again.

  53. Ben Jennings

This band just thoroughly helped inspire me to become better at dissonant guitar.

    Mizza G

dude they definitely had an enhancing effect on my ability to do dissonant guitar

  54. Lind

0 people are... oh wait, nevermind.

  55. abax84

Instead of bitching about how much people suck for not liking this, just realize that they are the majority, the majority that will follow the fly trap to their deaths.. Leaving us to rock out to ATDI & Volta & such as loud as we want

  56. theburden1

This band is just amazing. I first heard this album when I was 10 - 11 now I am 20 and I still love it, if not more.

  57. fob199

    fart at 3:52 LOL

  58. chinguidinsky

Humans have no hope, proof of it is they like mainstream gay ass bullshit than this. Their preference is off by a lot. Wich means that in the existential plain they prefer darkness instead of light... I think I've lost all hope, but, you know, at least this song is badass.

    @bongoo100 ATDI MO'FUCKA !!

  63. Mariusz S

    i love this album

  64. navebucketdude

@j0bzz well i don't knew were you get the skacore from. or punkcore. bad brains is hardcore punk and chocking victim for the most is a skapunk band but I hear more hardcore punk influence than ska. so really my bad. he was talking about hardcore/punk i put badbrains into the hardcore part (hardcore as in hardcorepunk you know early d.r.i and minor threat) and i put chocking victim in the punk part. i view them as more punk than ska.

  65. fuck off

i'm supprised this vid is only 8,600 views whears the ATDI love

  66. navebucketdude

@joshandpainpills nah bad brains self titled or chocking victim's 1999 release has this album beat. i know it's hard to believe there are better hardcorepunk albums but it is true. this album is amazing and a true classic but i don't think it is the best hardcorepunk album.

  67. BalrogTheRed

it's bands like these that should be more recognize then fucking Justin beeber. FUCKING AUTOTUNE =_=

  68. asspants101

Best song ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Fucking blows away any of todays pussy hardcore

  69. XturntodustX

cedric is fucking amazing 2001 RIP

    Jesher Presigo

XturntodustX LOL. Oh come now, he was great up until Frances the Mute and a little bit beyond. I loved his vocals on Wax Simulacra, even if the album isn't my fave.

    Jesher Presigo

Err, I assumed by RIP you mean he started sucking after 01.
