Association, The - The Time It Is Today Lyrics

Sunrise, sunset
What you're born with is what you get
Let your fear just pass away, then your love will fill your days
I know
I need so little, yet so much
Child's sweet laughter, woman's touch
I can't say just what is real, all I know is what I feel
I know
The time it is today, and we must find our way
My heart it clearly states, the answer's not in hate
I once believed that love was but a dream
But now I know that love's a flowing stream
They're lying, killing, they're pushing their rules
They tell you the prophets all are just fools
But I know different and I won't be used
It's they that are lost, it's they are confused
Sunrise, sunset
What you're born with is what you get
All your worries, all your fears
They don't change the passing years
I know

Association, The The Time It Is Today Comments
  1. D.... H....

I remember buying this album in 1968 at a department store like Wards or Sears in their record dept. back then, cos I was such a fan of the Association, thanks to AM top 40 stations and transistor radios.

This is the album I literally wore out in 1967-8. Loved it all. Thank you Association for sharing you talents with us all. You deserve the Hall of Fame. 🤗😘💋🇨🇦

I discovered this album in the 90's as a bored teenager, going through the albums of my parents. I loved it so much I copied it onto a cassette!

my first high school friend gave me this album for Xmas...nicest thing she ever did for me.

  8. H.... M....

One night in 1987 a friend from high school picked me up in his dad's 1969 Dodge Charger. The Charger didn't have a tape deck, of course, so he had a boom box in the backseat with this cassette in it. I'll never forget how we drove around for hours that night, not really saying much. It was like going back in time and feeling like we were reliving the script of Vanishing Point.

I have this album. Played hundreds of times over the decades. But no means to play it anymore.

    K.... R....

They still sell turntables. Just look on Amazon.

I'm 99% sure you can get most if not all the songs on CD, try Amazon & Ebay. I saw them live in my early teens in the 60s in New Haven, CT, on a 2x bill w. Gary Puckett & the Union Gap, best concert EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Christopher Thorkon thank you. I live in very small property- no room for such a thing.

    @dave johnson Thanks.
I appreciate the free music on Youtube. Here in the UK there were limited opportunities to see American bands we heard on pirate radio stations in the 1960s. The Association were unique.
