Association, The - One Sunday Morning Lyrics

There was a land afar across the sea
That people chose to call "the Land of Liberty"
The fathers went to war to make the children free
Just when hope was dead, someone raised his head and said:

"One Sunday mornin' we're gonna rise again
One Sunday mornin' we're gonna love again"

I don't remember now just how it came to be
After 80 years or so not everyone was free
Brothers still ain't brothers in the Land of Liberty
And just before they all were dead, someone raised his head and said:

"One Sunday mornin' we're gonna rise again
One Sunday mornin' we're gonna love again"

I have survived all your yesterdays!
I'd save a lot if you'd change your ways, spend your days
Helpin' my people, lovin' my people
Makin' my people free

One Sunday mornin' (mornin') we're gonna rise again (we're gonna rise again)
One Sunday mornin' we're gonna love again" (we're gonna love again)

One Sunday mornin' (mornin') we're gonna rise again (we're gonna rise again)
One Sunday mornin' we're gonna love again" (we're gonna love again)

One Sunday mornin' (mornin') we're gonna rise again (we're gonna rise again)...

Not their best song at all.

I would assume that the masters for the unreleased LP are safely tucked away in RCA's vaults. Why would anyone think otherwise?

    d.... ....

@drbencasey RCA doesn't have them. The only set I know belong to guitarist Larry Brown.

Are you sure? If the songs were recorded for them for a proposed album, why wouldn't they be there? Next time I go up to BMG, I'll check the files. But of all of the big companies, they are the best at maintaining their archives.

Search for the individual songs from "The Association Bites Back" on YouTube. Guitarist Larry Brown has uploaded them all on here.

Do you have the B-side? It's called "Life Is a Carnival".

Larry Brown has posted some of the tracks - taken from a cassette copy of the tracks - here on You Tube. Hope this is of interest. Though I'm not crazy about either the A or B side of this single (both are overblown to me), the Bites Back band was in top form live and even with the poor quality from the cassette, you can hear they were quite good on tracks such as Travelin' Boy and The Wedding Song.

    Hello DBS!

  7. s.... ....

Actually, just after this single, Larry Ramos left the band and the band then recorded "Bites Back", but it was never released and no one knows where the masters are today. The band was Jim Yester, Ted Bluechel, Larry Brown, David Vaught, Maurice "Mo" MIller and either Andy Chapin or Dwayne Smith on keyboards. Session players are unknown to me though I know I've talked to both Jim and Larry about it, but can't remember.
