Association, The - Midnight Wind Lyrics

Feelin' in the back of my heart
Just a feelin' it's way around
Been running around from place to place
Tryin' to get my feet on the ground
Ending up here in the middle of the night
With nothin' but the stars around

And it's very well known that
They don't make no sound
And it's very clearly shown
That some things lost
Are never to be found

So sail away
If you got the chance
Take the first high tide
Don't worry much
'Bout where you're goin'
Be glad that you got the
Ride Ride Ride Ride Ride
Ride Ride Ride Ride Ride

There's a wind that moves
I know it well
Thru trees without a trace
Nothin' moves, never a rustle
As it chases its tail
For the sake of the chase
And within this wind
If it knows you well
You may chance to see your face
And it's very well known
That it's a stillborn place
And it's very clearly shown
That this is its one and only grace

So sail away
If you got the chance
Take the first high tide
Don't worry much
'Bout where you're goin'
Be glad that you got the
Ride Ride Ride Ride Ride
Ride Ride Ride Ride Ride

  1. J.... M....

This song is truly atrocious. My ears are bleeding.

  2. t.... j....

Stevie Nicks haunts me again and again.

  3. j.... ....

I hear the howling cars and trucks outside my window every night and the night is cold and black

  4. E.... T....

Backed by Stevi nicks in the backgrond..

    E.... T....

The instrumentals really strike a chord in the vocal exchange. Beautiful.

  5. a.... ....

First '45 that I ever bought as I couldn't afford the LP (which rocks!)., Hey I was only like 12 years old lol. Than you for posting the song

  6. D.... W....

Stevie also sang backup, on John's 'Gold',

    D.... W....

Together they turned the music into gold. The underlying current between the front and back-up vocals is that tarnished tin and burnished copper can be golden.

  7. M.... B....

I believe so does Lindsey Buckingham.

  8. C.... S....

    entered Billboard Aug 25, 1979..reached #28.

Why is there no site that has any concert coverage from John Stewart and the band? I know there's not much but 2 or 3 songs of his own but he had to play somewhere at some time back in the late 70's and early 80's beside the TV show Solid Gold. SOmeone tell me where I can find something like that.

  10. W.... W....

I bought this single when it came out.

  11. B.... P....

A classic John Stewart song.  Check out the version on Airdream Believer (CD or MP3), with Roseanne Cash singing backup.

  12. J.... ....

  15. S.... B....

A little "ooh, ooh, ooo, ooh, ooo ooo" reminiscent of Violet and Blue. I wonder if she wrote that song using this as inspiration? It would make a great companion piece.

  16. K.... L....

Rest in peace, John. You were never recognized enough!!!

  17. K.... L....

One of my all time favorites!!!!
