How did they manage to record this in a country where such music is prohibited?

It's not exactly amazing quality so probably a cheap home studio

Band was formed in Dubai in 2003 by James Murray (keyboards) and Ben Bruce (lead guitar). In 2005 band came to Spain. In 2006 they found a guitarist Danny Worsnop, who later became their vocalist. Then they found Robin Everett, Ryan Binns and Hitesh Ghandi who became bassist, rhytm guitarist and drummer. They released an album, which later renamed to Reckless and Relentless, which became popular. Later they're came in UK. In 2007 their second album was called The Irony Of Your Perfection. In 2008 band changed almost all bandmates. Danny recorded album, but goes to keyboards. Bassist and Drummer returns in UAE. Denis came as vocals, Lucas Brown as bassist, Joe Lancaster as rhytm guitarist and Kierran Tuffinder as drummer. They recorded Stand Up And Scream. Then Danny leaves because of side project, and three bandmates also leave. Cameron Liddle became a rhytm guitarist, Sam Battley became a bassist and James Cassels became a drummer. In 2011 they record 4th album Stepped Up And Scratched.
In 2012 Denis was kicked out from band. Danny returns as a vocalist. In 2014 they record 5th album called From Death To Destiny. In 2015 Danny leave band again. Dennis was wanted to return. In 2016 they made 6th album The Black. Denis leave band because he returns in Down & Dirty and also make a new band called Drag Me Out. Now Denis is also in Russian band [Amatory]. Danny returns 3rd time. In 2019 they made a Self-Titled album.

welp I guess Ben is now a good guitarist in my book, or at least better than what I gave him credit for... I wish he'd make some riffs like the ones on here and SUAS or whichever album that one song that had lyrics like "jar one eye" came from. these are so appealing to the ear as opposed to all those chuggs...

To all those people who are clueless as to who sang on this album and screamed and to people who think that Ben ever wanted to be a vocalist is wrong. James Murray was the vocalist of this album and sang the song "dedication". which many believe was Ben singing.

The vocalist - James Murray who sings and screams on "The Irony of Your Perfection" - is actually the voice on a track from "Reckless & Relentless," our second studio album. It's a song called "Dedications" so we still kept in touch and stuff. Yeah, we wrote that in Dubai when I was about 15 or 16 years old.

Jose Barbosa Pra quem gosta de um bom e velho Hardcore ala Alexisonfire e de um pouquinho de emocore esse é um bom álbum sim. Se tiver falando da qualidade de áudio das músicas, Não tem o que se reclamar disso sabendo que na época eles não tinham gravadora e nem bons equipamentos..

Jose Barbosa E não teria o porquê deles adicionarem esse álbum na discografia da banda, até pq só tinha o Ben Bruce da formação atual, A formação atual soou como uma nova banda que adotou o nome da antiga..

I don't know who the vocalist was when this album was recorded, but it sounds pretty fucking close to Denis' vocals in Make Me Famous if you ask me

@BrickWolfy The vocalist for the recording of this album was James Murray. This was the ORIGINAL Asking Alexandria before Danny Worsnop and all the other members joined. The only original AA member still in the band today is Ben Bruce. I was hoping James Murray would be the permanent replacement for Danny when he left, but who knows what he's up to these days. Probably has a family now or something ad left being a vocalist behind.

Bruce originally formed the band in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 2006. The band's original line up consisted of completely different members compared to that of the band's lineup from 2008. The band released their debut album titled 'The Irony in Your Perfection'. After realizing he wouldn't be able to achieve international success in Dubai, he moved back to England, Nottingham in 2008 and reassembled the band with new members from the local area, including lead singer Danny Worsnop, of which he had moved into his flat apartment in York. He carried the name over due to not wanting to bother to come up with a brand new name, so he stuck with the old one. When asked why he chose that particular name, he explained that "'Most bands have a pretty shit band name, so I just came up with something. I came up with Alexandria as a human name, because people relate to humans." although the reason for using the word 'asking' is not explained.

The band released their first official début album titled Stand Up and Scream in 2009 via Sumerian and Victory records, produced by Joey Sturgis. Although it didn't chart in the UK, it did chart in the US, peaking at; 4 in the Top Heatseekers, 24 in the Top Hard Rock Albums and 29 in the Top Independent Albums. The bands second album, titled Reckless and Relentless, was released in 2011 via Sumerian records, which again featured Joey Sturgis. This time, the album did chart in the UK, peaking at 7 on the UK Rock Chart, and also charted in Australia at 30 on the Australian Albums Chart. They released their third album, titled From Death to Destiny in 2013 via Sumerian Records and peaked in the US at 5 and the Top Hard Rock Albums at 1, and also charted in the UK at 28 and in Australia at 11, making it their most commercially successful album to date

Actually the bands name was Asking Alexander. Asking as a fill in word and Alexander as in Alexander the great because everyone knew him and how powerful he was and it was changed later in the uk to Alexandria because it's on the tounge. Danny had an interview about it

No.....he was not the singer of the band back then. 
The Asking Alexandria that released The Irony of Your Perfection was a completely different band, which actually went through 2 name changes before finally settling with Asking Alexandria. 
The Irony of Your Perfection was released right before the band split up. 

The founder, Ben Bruce, moved to the UK to create another band by the same name, the one you see today. 
So no, Danny was not the singer in The Irony of Your Perfection. 
The only current member from that album is Ben Bruce. 

All is correct besides the band having two name changes before settling with Asking Alexandria. The band's name was always Asking Alexandria from the very beginning since it's creation in Dubai. It was for this reason why Bruce continued it's name when he moved back to the UK to reform the band.

Nope he's right and you're wrong because they were called amongst us in 2003 and changed the name to end of reason and had an ep, then changed just before Ben went back to England.

Aunque contextualizando, estás errado, porque ése álbum entra en la categoría de Hardcore, Stand Up And Scream por otro lado, es post, pero en aquella época no era el mismo de ahora, y luego pasaron a ser metalcore, y bueno, sobre "I Won't Give In" es Post, pero esperemos que el álbum sea un buen metalcore :3

@Psicosis Jack Doppler Andrade todos los albues de asking alexandria son easycore (una mezcla que se basa principalmente en el pop y pop punk incorporando mucha influencia de metalcore melodico y algunos casos post hardcore, screamo o hardcore) no hay que confundir con post hardcore que es un genero totalmente distinto, y para comprobarlo escuchen bandas como Fugazi....por lejos este album es mucho mejor que las mierdas que saco despues...danny es un pecho frio que no siente la musica y que cantaba mal, en estudio le ponia muchos arreglos de computadora a su voz y en vivo eraun desastre. Ahora con el chico que entro la otra vez habra que ver que tal son, pero con ese adelanto dejaron mucho que desear
