Arnold, Eddy - Poison Red Berries Lyrics
You know I don't think much about her anymore
Seldom if ever does she cross my mind
Yesterday's gone love it's better forgotten
Like the poison red berries to die on the vine
Had some coffee and talked with some old friends of mine
Laughing at all the good times they remember
And then I remembered the time
Oh Lord, I can still see the bright lights back in Dallas
As yesterday moves like a dream through my mind
I didn't suppose that I'd ever forget her
And you know it took such a long time
But you know I don't think much about her no more
Yesterday's gone and it's better forgotten
It's like a poison red berry that clings to the mind...

Arnold, Eddy Poison Red Berries Comments
Eddy was a mega country star in the 1950s and '60s with dozens of hits. He even subbed for Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show. He took a lot of heat from traditional country fans for going "pop" in the early '60s with albums that featured orchestras instead of steel guitars. The early '70s saw Eddy in major decline as a country singer. The hit songs dramatically reduced and the velvety voice withered and cracked. This was one of his last good albums.
Got it!.....Mickey Newbury!

Jus Mee ...Jus,I'm losing my mind,it's right here on my tablet and I'm playing it now!
I think we all have days like that, Graham! lol All the versions are good, but the one by Tammy is my favorite.
I think i go with Johnny Rodriguez. Probably cuz he's got my favorite voice and his singing jus does something for me:)
Johnny R's version is definitely great as well. After doing a youtube search, I was surprised to see where Johnny Cash had done it as well.
Paused it for a few minutes, while I racked my brain trying to remember who I'd got this by....apart from Rodriguez?
