Armstrong, Louis - Old Man Mose Lyrics
Now once there lived an old man with a very crooked nose
He lived in log hut and they called him old man Mose, yeah
Early one mornin' I knocked at his door
Didn't hear a single sound, I ain't gonna do it no more
I believe old man, that old man Mose is dead
I'm tellin' you, I believe old man, I believe old man
I do believe old man, that old man Mose is dead
Now, we believe Mose kicked the bucket
We believe Mose kicked the bucket
We believe Mose kicked the bucket
We believe he's dead, oh we believe
We believe Mose kicked the bucket
We believe Mose kicked the bucket
We believe he's dead, I'm lookin' here
I went around to the side and I peeped through the crack
I saw an old man layin' flat on his back, yeah
If old man Mose was dead asleep, I did not know
But after lookin' through that window, I ain't gonna do that no more
'Cause I found out old man, I found out old man
I found out old man, that old man Mose is dead
I'm tellin' you, I found out old man, what it's all about, old man
I found out old man, that old man Mose is dead
Now, we found out Mose kicked the bucket
We found out Mose kicked the bucket
We found out Mose kicked the bucket
We found out he's dead, oh
We found out Mose kicked the bucket
We found out Mose kicked the bucket
We found out Mose kicked the bucket
We found out he's dead
Old man Mose is dead

Armstrong, Louis Old Man Mose Comments

Salve Louis Armstrong.

This song was written by Louis Armstrong and Zilner Randolph. I hope that helps some. ;-)
That isn't true. People didn't get all creamy and giggly over profanity like most small minded folks do these days. Also, artists like Louis Armstrong and Cab Calloway were class acts who rarely, if ever, used profanity during their sets. So stop selling misinformation.
THE SWIGING BLUE JEANS did awesome version too.
I didn't hear him say that at all. Where did he sing that?
As fond as I am of Satch, I like his friend and colleague Louis Jordan's version better. That version is funnier because of Jordan's wold mock sermon near the end (see elsewhere on you tube).
this became beyond blockbuster at the time due to the word "fuck" in the song lmfao
@MONTEREYTEGO. I sincerely doubt there is a Brazilian who does not like music. If there were to ever exist an unmusical Brazilian, the world would surely come to an end. What the Brazilians have contributed to music is monumental and as important as anything else. Pops would dig it.
Hello!
I'm from Brazil and I like music. There are many musical tastes. i don't like of the "Brazilian Funk" and "Happy", which are declamations ritmcs..So even respect the differences that enrich, ok?
"Old Man Mose," here, was recorded by Roberto Carlos in 1966. Already, he knew that L. Armstrong, was recorded, and then Louis Jordan.Mas Originally, someone but recorded? Whose is this song?

@Hellisfear
Every artist that can. adds another dimension to a cover with their own creativity: learn brothers and sisters to enjoy them all; and savor the differences that keep us from being bored with the mad repetition in our otherwise insane life we live, on this beautiful, blue planet. And I mean Artists, it should be apparent.....
@rsaf18 I think Armstrong beats Hutton, no offense.
@Shortey61 No disrespect to sachmo...but Betty Hutton Killed the song and no one did any better.
This is not the orignal...Louis Armstrong was suppose to sing, he kick the bucket, ahh fuck it.
More authentic, better and more jazzy than the "fuck, fuck, fuck-it" version also posted on YouTube (Eddy Duchin).
Reminds me of the time I saw a parked car with a motionless old gent, about 85 years old, in the back seat of a parked car. I called the cops, and didn't stick around to see whether he was really dead or not!
Eddy's version is less creepy
This is the best version I have heard. This song was perfect for Mr. Armstrong and he did a supurb job of delivering the goods (as usual) He was one of the 20th. Century's greatest entertainers. The respect this man garnered around the world was wonderful and well deserved. I lovd him so much.
Armstrong Rules!
yes very
