Aretha Franklin - You're All I Need To Get By Lyrics
You're all I need to get by
You're all I need to get by
You're all I need to get by
You're all I need to get by
You're all I need to get by
As long as I got you then baby, you know that you've got me, oh!
'Cause we've got our love in some R E S P E C T, oh!
Like sweet morning dew, took one look at you
And it was plain to see that you were my destiny
With my arms open wide, I threw away my pride
I sacrificed for you, dedicated my life to you
Like I would go where you lead
I'll be right there in a time of need
You'll be there to push me up that hill
There's no, no looking back for us
We've got our love and sure know that's enough
You're all I need
You're all I need
You're all I need, baby, baby to get by
Yea, to go by
Like an eagle protect his nest, for you I'll do my best
Stand by you like a tree and dare anybody that try to move me
Darlin' in you I've found, strength where I was torn down
I don't know what's in store but together we can open any door
Just to do what's good for you, I'll inspire you a little bitta higher
I know you can make a woman out of soul that didn't have a goal
'Cause we, we've got the right foundation
And with the love and determination
You're, you're all I need
You're all, you're all I need
You're all, you're all I need to get by
Yea...
Yea, as long as I got you then baby, you know that you've got me, oh!
Mm, 'cause we've got our love in some R E S P E C T, oh!
As long as I got you then baby
You know that you've got me, oh
You're all I need
You're all that I need
You're all that I need

INCREDIBLE!!! My sister looked liked her and could sing just like her. She sang professionally in a group back in 1969
Like an eagle that protects its nest.....truth.
Listen I didn't know that Aretha had this version of this song. I've only heard of the Marvin Gaye Tammy Terrell version. They played both on the tv show Scandal and both versions are great.
Too slow for me but great voice.

THE BEST, ARETHA.
We yet remember you Queen on today, we will never forget you, we love you! Rest on sweet 👼. RIP King Elvis.
Mary j bilge and method Man use this sample for all I need
Amazing solo version of my favourite song. Marvin and Tammi's duet is so special though, it's true love on vinyl. This was Tim and I's song, played it at his funeral, means the world to me x
She did and sang so many great songs brilliantly but this is my ultimate and favourite song of hers, much more positive message.
GLOW S02E04
I know there's a GOD...when I hear Ms. Aretha Franklin used as HIS VEHICLE to soothe my soul; no words for the KING & Queen, just tears; it only gets better...HEAVEN 💃🏾👑🎺
Watching the older episodes of scandle and this song comes on...its my queen mother of course..😍🔥 I had to come here and hear it 5,6 more times.😊😊💝
"Like the sweet morning dew,

And it was plain to see you were my destiny.
With my arms open wide, I threw away my pride.
I'll sacrifice for you dedicate my life for you.
I will go where you lead always there in time of need.
And when I lose my will you'll be there to push me up the hill.
There's no, no looking back for us, we got love sure 'nough, that's enough.

Anyone else cry hearing this for the first time? BTW Method Man and Mary J Blige led me on the path to this song. This is why I love hip-hop the samples aren't taken with malice they are ways of sharing the greats with all generations.

The greatest voice ever, The Queen Miss Aretha Franklin the one and only Queen of Soul
I really do love both versions of this song, but I will be dammed , if Aretha didn't do the SANCTIFIED STOMP, ALLLLLL over this one. GO, REE!
"...And with love and ...DE-termination" I f-ing love the spin on that lyric.
TODAY IN MUSIC HISTORY: February 20, 1971 - 48 Years Ago Today: Aretha Franklin debuted at No. 91 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with her single, "You're All I Need To Get By." Awersome......
Thanks.....
Bad ass bass line. Usually it is the the bass and drum holding the bottom but this is Aretha and that bass, emphasis on Aretha with that bass accomplishment, not out front but picking up the attitude she laid out. I thought that this was James Jamerson but noooo.
No other voice like hers! RIP....
Love it!!
Sooooooooo love this song 💞

Come through queen 👑
Nope aretha in a class all by her self. All hail the Queen. I salute you ms Queen. Mik jagger once said her voice is a new instrument., cant dupliate her sound. No one sounds like her and i mean no one . Undisputed queen of soul
Yes Guys. My mother to the Queen at a very young age. My style is so much like hers as a result of it. She sings with a lot of harmony that’s the key. Harmony
I love this version have you heard her at 2:30 that pure raw soul I love it and I love her so much !
I am just now realizing the full range of what Aretha gave us. As a youngin', I always knew she deserved the title Queen of Soul but damn I didn't know she produced all of these jewels. We are blessed to have all that she has given us.
Sing that song girl, that sister could blow,we love you queen, tell mom hello
RIP Aretha, dear lord I miss knowing your are amongst us! You were a legend ....an enduring gift to us all.
Such soul. There will never b another like her R I P
👑👑👑👑
Another example how Aretha took a song by Ashford and Simpson and she would not give it back!!! You go girl. RIP!!
Exactly!
She made it sound SO effortless. Do you hear The ease in her voice. Truly blessed with a gift. We love you and your music Queen. Thank you and rest well.
OMG, who sang the song first? I never knew Aretha Franklin made a version of this song too. Love Tammy and Marvin’s version. Both sound great.
Katrina White same here. I didn’t know until I saw it on YouTube. I have to say her version is slightly better than the original one.
Amazing recording. At no point does she sing the melody of the song as written. The background singers sing the melody in the chorus. God blessed this lady with a swiss army knife of musical gifts (singer, musician, songwriter, vocal arranger, producer), all on display in this song. She will be greatly missed, but thank God she shared her gifts with us. Love you Queen!
Of course, the great Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson wrote this classic
The only thing I can stay is there will never ever be another she was the greatest...R.I.P QUEEN.
Rest In Peace, Aretha Queen! ❤️ one of the greatest voices ever.
