Aretha Franklin - You'll Lose A Good Thing Lyrics
If you should loo-oo-se me,
Oh, yeah, you'll lose a good thing.
If you should loo-oo-se me,
Oh, yeah, you'll lose a good thing.
Do anything for you.
Just don't mistreat me,
An I'll be good to you.
'Cause if you should loo-oo-se me,
Oh, yeah, you'll lose a good thing.
I'm givin' you one more chance,
For you to do right.
If you'll only straighen up,
We'll have a good life.
Oh, yeah, you'll lose a good thing.
This is my last time,
Not asking any more.
If you don't do right,
I'm gonna march outta that door.
And if you don't be-lee-eeve me,
Just try it, daddy,
An you'll lose a good thing.
Just try it, daddy,
An you'll lose a good thing.
Just try it, daddy,
An you'll lose a good thing.

Aretha Franklin You'll Lose A Good Thing Comments
BARBARA LYNN
Sang Aretha
Spine tingling. Can't decide between Barbara's version. Both fantabulous in their own right. Oh yes' and Barbara's guitar is the business.
The Queen lives on!!!
SING, Queen....omg, just sing Ree!
❤👍🏾 love it...
Ony one cover comprable to this master piece and that is Dina Carroll. A master piece in its own right!
I love this song ❤️
Estou estasiado com tão lindas cações!
Love this. My parents played this album a lot and would dance to this song. So many of my childhood memories are connected to Aretha's songs.
AWESOMENESS
this week we lost a "massively" good thing
Lost a good thing today 😔
Barbara is certainly great, but so's is Aretha's
This arrangement is interesting, but I like it to sound raw, right folks? I wish Amy Winehouse had covered this one. But Barbara Lynn is laughing all the way to the bank. Keep recording it!
Music send from heaven.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this was real music
Please check out Dina Carroll"s version of You'll lose a good thing, I think you'll be quite surprised!
freddy fender is awesome
I personally like this version better than Barbara Lynn's and I am just hearing both of them
@Mikey Dan ..loved both of them.. Music of the two can't be found now. Keep enjoying. Blessings to you and yours.
barbra lynn all the way. just something about the raunchy rawness and realness.
Barbara wrote it too
Both Ms. Barbara L and Aretha versions are great
agree, but Barbara's has more ooomph.
@Cool Daddy dunno something about Aretha kills it for me, love them both still!!!
I prefer Barbara Lynn's version.
Dat gurl can sang!
Aretha Franklin - You'll Lose A Good Thing
remember it's a cover and many covers surpassed the original as in "Oye Como Va",Santanas cover gave Tito Puentes orginal a crossover fame that gave an already latin mambo star an injected boost as well money. bOTH versions are good and with all due respest to the Queen of Soul i to favor the original, tho still find this cover quite unique the more so with her cover of Sam Cookes "you Send Me in my honest opinion was much more gritty hard core swing soul crushing greater than the beloved sweet smooth original with for me came down to production styles of which im drawn to Arethas Sam Cooke cover. greatest cover done by Jose Feliciano Light My Firer gave birth to a song that now has two genres both absolute as well so many other sterling origanls and their covers
+Michael Torres interesting- Carla Thomas does a good funky cover- love Barbara Lynn's too and everything Barbara did- this was done by Aretha in her early years before Atlantic- it is more slickly produced than BL's or Carlas and I hear you - Aretha is the Queen of Soul but Barbara is so damn authentic and funky
just as good as Barbara Lynn version
+Hank Wanders true hard to hang with Aretha
Barbara Lynn
Please check out Dina Carroll"s You'll lose a good thing, I think you will like it.
No where near but each to there own
very nice.
Barbara Lynn by a few million miles.
Mike Spurgeon yeah!
monica bella You have great taste Monica.
Unmistakable Steve Cropper at e.g. 46-7.
Barbara Mason is good but Ree Ree puts her "soul" spin on it nd I've gotta give this my girl, Queen of Soul, always have loved her nd always will. Aretha 4-eva!!!
Ula Boo Our Once and Future Queen!
(Even Elizabeth 'Commanded' a performance from she once!!
Not Barbara Mason. Barbara Lynn.
Nope.... Barbara Lynn all the way
Aretha has her own way of singing a song. That is why she is and always will be the Queen of Soul.
Nah only Barbara Lynn.. only the 1962 live from The!!!!Beat! Pure soul.
TIHIS SONG IS ON VERY POPULAR CODE. BUT I FEEL SOMETHING HOPEFUL. AND SHE SONG THIS SONG AT HER BEST AGE AS A SINGER.
This is a respectable cover. But nobody has matched or surpassed the original Barbara Lynn, who oozed soul, class, sass & sex appeal. To the left Ree, Ree you tried & couldn't.
JJ truth lol😂😂
There is no such thing as Aretha "tried and couldn't." Humble yourself when you speak about a queen. Take your opinion and disrespect in the trash, where it belongs.
Areatha compared to Barbara lynns is dead its a million miles away.
Mike Spurgeon I beg to differ.
The orig, Barbara Lynn version is gr8, but I Dig the sh!t outta Arethas version, cool, sexy, sweet.
Sung from the heart.
First time hearing this version. Aretha never disappoints. I LOVE it!!!
♡♥♡♥♡♥
Its very dificult to know the best version between Barbara Lynn and my diva Aretha. I think i found a new diva and i have 2 divas. I love all her.
No way, sorry Aretha, Barbara Lynn owns this song!
Oh no no no. Aretha OWNS this. Caroline and Erma background vocals or studio? Not sure. Fine sax and guitar.
Aretha is my favorite singer, but Barbara brought the sexy to this song, though the Queen isn't too far behind on this number.
MsPoetist well done
Aretha, you can sang your tail off. Barbara you are good as well but?????
Barbara wrote it too.
But Barbara wrote the freaking song and she delivered the sexiest version first. If it wasn't for Barbara Aretha wouldn't have this song to sing.
Just listen to the SAX and GITTAR ••• ••• WoW ..!
One million thank you for sharing this fantastic classic tune..
ive never heard barbras version but im sure aretha sings it better
wendy alist Not even close have a listen. This is lifeless and sterile
No buddy not even close lol. Love Aretha but Barbara Lynn by a million miles. Easily.
Aretha is Great, Not taking anything away from her, But I believe Barbara Lynn's version is LOTS better.
Barbara actually wrote it.
damn....
Arethrafied version. wow. Barbra Version is mine. Love ya.
I disagree this version sounds more jazzy & classy.
ARETHA I LOVE U TO DEATH, BUT THIS IS A BARBARA LYNN ORIGINAL!!!!
omg i accidentally hit dislike. i listen to this song soooo much. i love it
Damn, baby, best thing.
sweet song
yes baby, love it
