Aretha Franklin - Until You Were Gone Lyrics
I said I didn't need you baby
I said I'd get along
I thought I can make it without you baby
But I guess I'm not that strong
And I didn't know I could miss you so
I said I'd get over you baby
I said I'd be alright
Just, just when I start remembering
That all the hurt comes back in the night
And I didn't know I could miss you so
Until you were gone
I tried to stay away cause I knew I couldn't win
But here I am, and I'm back again
But everytime I close my eyes I can see in, see in your face
Oh, oh, oh, I said I'd forget you
Cause I really thought, I really thought that I could
Oh, oh, I thought I could stop of loving you
I tried it, but it didn't do no good
And I didn't know I could miss you so
Until you were gone
I said I'd get over you baby
I said I'd be alright
But, oh, oh, just when I start remembering
It comes back in the night
Oh, oh, oh, oh, I thought I could
Oh baby

I can not believe you are no longer with us (until you were gone) so sad.
This is my favorite song by Aretha. Thanks for the music. RIP
my god what a legend, heart is heavy for the Queen of soul, song is so fitting for such a sad day, your music lives on in our hearts!!!!!!
beautiful
Although I am a great Aretha fan, I have not heard this version of a great song before. For my money, one of the Queen Of Soul's greatest cuts was (NO NO) I'M LOSING YOU from her Columbia days.
wow brilliant
I REMEMBER WHEN BERRY GORDY DESPARATELY TRIED TO GET REE REE TO COME TO MOTOWN.
loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I actually prefer the Columbia years
Even many die-hard Aretha freaks (like me) overlook her pre-Atlantic records. Thank thank thank you for posting this classic. Really love this track - DAVEDJ
Love this song. Thanks for posting.
Correction the year of this album was 1966.
This track comes from her Soul Sister album on the Columbia label. Pre-Atlantic classics. This album had many, many good cuts on it. Year: 1960 I believe. If you have this album, I agree with Shells, please post them all. Thank you from me as well.
