Aretha Franklin - Trouble In Mind Lyrics

Trouble in mind, I'm blue
But I won't be blue always,
'Cause that sun is gonna shine in my back door someday

I'm going down to the river
I'm going top take me a rocking chair
And if the blues don't leave me, I rock on away from here

Trouble in mind, I'm blue
But I won't be blue always,
'Cause that sun is gonna shine in my back door someday

Trouble in mind, that's true
I have almost lost my mind
Life ain't worth living, I feel like I could die

Trouble in mind, I'm blue
My poor heart is healing slow
I've never had such trouble in my whole life before

I'm gonna lay my head on some lonesome railroad line
And let that 2:19 special ease my troubled mind

Trouble in mind, I'm blue,
But I won't be blue always
'Cause that sun is gonna shine in my back door someday

Favorite song of the album. I was 15 in the middle of 2007 when I bought this album just cause it costed 2€ on sale and I liked the cover, had never heard of her before. When I went home and played the music I just couldn't believe how powerful her voice was and juvenile at the same time. This particular song speaks to me because I was going through a lot of troubles and hoped that I won't be blue always... Rest in peace Aretha

Hello, same thing happened to me with Canned Heat's album called "Living the blues". Caught stuck; never heard blues before.

My black mama used to love this song! While she was still on this earth, she would ask for me to repeat this, over, and over! Today, when I hear it, It STILL reminds me of her....and having being a gospel singer,... I sing this version of it....
