Aretha Franklin - Integrity Lyrics
Let me run this by you...
I know that you've been jivin' me
And you're cold as you can be
But I leave room for something real
You don't live up to the expected
And your true feelings you've neglected
Don't worry about it, your love I can do without it
Move over baby 'cause you're really in the way
Something really good's gonna happen today
If you can't dig on me and really bring it home
Try being a man on you very own
If your love is not for me, at least use some integrity
Why don't you use some integrity?
I know that you got your daddy's way
But your daddy's day was yesterday
Time has moved on and things have changed
Ladies' priorities re-arranged
You wanna be appreciated
What you give is so underrated
Well
One would think there was no one but you
And you're the very thing to make you blue
Do I make you feel insecure?
Do you need control?
Would it help you just to know
You've won my heart and you're on a roll
It ain't been told a woman's love as sweet as mine
You're a star and I help you shine
There's a good woman behind every man
Let's go from one and revise the plan
Do the do for me
And it ain't been told a woman's love as sweet as mine
You're a star and I help you shine
There's a good woman behind every man
Let's go from one and revise the plan
And if your love is not for me, at least use some integrity
Come on
Why don't you use some integrity?
Put the word in your vocabulary
Look it up in you dictionary
Don't run your jive on me
Well you wanna be trusted
But your show been busted
You think ladies are toys
I like the big boys
Yes I do
With integrity
Talkin' about non-commital
All that is, my man, is about givin' a lot for a little
Integrity...

Chas E the queen!!!
The title is something missing from this world of today; the right thing, for the right reason(s). Words in the song say "if your love is not for me, at least use some "integrity."
Lady Soul in super-fine soulful groove, the Queen really got in to this self-penned jam...never again
bradly2007 amen
Ms. Franklin is really the queen of soul......
As an American retiree, I'm happy to be in the Modern Soul Aretha camp
RIP, Queen, a voice for eternity.
One of my top five epic album closers of all time. And that bass line...
Yes thats right ,use some integrity
Aretha put her A Game on this entire album. She showed out. She showed why theres only one queen. The end of this song..the notes she hits..the fire..the verve..blows "respect" out of the water.
Sean Noriega amen and she proved even in her 40s she still had it like she did in her 20s
God Save The Queen !!!!!!!!! KTF one and all !!!! (her voice makes me cry, all six-foot-five and sixteen stone of me, I swear to God !!)
Blast from the blast... the good old days! Aretha actually wrote this one entirely herself. One of a kind! Such a great album.
One of my top 5 Aretha tracks....and a constant playlist track. A vastly underrated track. The Queen brought some 70's soul into the 80's and found one of the best album closers in the decade.
I heard it when I first bought the album it first came out and still listen to it greatest vocals and rhythm.the queen of soul is always there for us!!
My favorite song of all time. She sang the hell out of this song... she tore the end of it up..what a songwriter ..what a voice.. leaves you breathless
Her best song, I agree with you !
love this song since "Zoomin" came out & thought was the only one, smooth soulful classic Lady Soul in super fine groove...
This is the Queen! Momma Soul.Ms. Aretha Franklin.......
Bought this album (her only to go platinum), and always loved the Dizzy solo!
dope beat and the voice.........THE QUEEN IS IN THE HOUSE
I love this song. It's the perfect ending to the "Who's Zooming Who Album. The "Queen Of Soul" really put down the tracks. The producers and background singers were on point. I was sorry hear that she'd lost her father before recording this album. I listen to his sermons on CD from Chess Records. These sermons are a weath of knowledge to me. Blessed be.
It's the dogs b****ks. A very neglected piece.
Excellent song - one of my favorite Aretha compositions.
