Area 11 - Override (A) Lyrics
Under the ice
Taunted; Deformed in the mist
Of a struggling, suffering twist
Willing and wishing to break
Dihydrogen prism of fate
The life giver will take away
This won't be over so soon
You'll claw yourself out of the womb
Are you willing to die?
To be born in the spotlight
I won't let you drown
Are you willing to die?
To be something; trigger the override.
Cast into Gehenna you'll burn
Cleanse from the fires inside
Rejecting your pitiful life
You'll crawl on your hands and your knees
You'll feast on the fear you receive
And here in the alter you'll give
Your life for a reason to live, woah
Are you ready to die?
To be born in the spotlight
I won't let you down
Are you ready to die?
To be more than they say you are
You'll be a mistake
The product of rape
The child of the void and the ghost in the tape
Can the ego you've sculpted endure the escape?
To be something; trigger the override
I am willing tonight.
I am willing to die
To be something; trigger the override

Area 11 Override (A) Comments
This is to this day among the best Area 11 has made, the lyrics man
Jesus... Some of these lyrics are seriously fucked..
The lyrics to this I cannot even begin to understand, but the instrumentation, as with the rest of Area 11's songs, is fantastic.
haha XD i'm not sure if the 'your face' was a mistake is joke XD either way i think it makes the vid better!
I almost feel as if this song is subtly referencing the Bible... I'll explain more if anyone wants.
Go Ahead, Those of us at Digital Haunt will thank you.
if you still know the theory hit us up pls
Great song to get sad-drunk to.
yeah i dont like the feeling its a very moving song from a AWESOME band but not for me
is it weird that this song soothes me xD
"The Ghost In The Tape" Hmm... Could It be? Ghost Cassette?
really digging the windows xp music player
I listen to this far too much. Oh okay one more time...
Can we take a step back from all the area 11 mystery (although I do like trying to figure out all the links in ATLITS) and look at this incredible song. That first chorus swell gives me chills every time. If Sparkles* really does write from heart I think he deserves a hug because this song terrifies, awes and speaks to me all in one. For me, like the rest of underline, it's all about society and the screwed up, self obsessed state it's in.
This song in particular is about a woman who was raped and ended up pregnant getting an abortion. Sparkles* is singing to the unborn child. "Are you listening?" Is about society as a whole. And I'm not quite sure about "In the Blind" but I think it may have a similar meaning to Are you listening?
Sparkles*mis truly amazing when it comes to writing lyrics, btw going to the San tour, cant wait!!
Sparkles is either really bad at writing lyrics or really good... Either way, im probably a idiot lol
He's really good. This song is about an abortion, where the unborn child was the outcome of rape.
blue exorcist?
Blue Exorcist
This is (thinking seriously) someone talking to their unborn child. The world is a sickening place, and just pure hell. He's telling the child that it doesn't want to be born, that it's not worth it, and asking it afterwards if it wants to be born, simply to die. Then, the child dies at the end of the song, along with the monotone beep. (The heart scanner signifying the end of a life that hadn't yet begun)
I had basically come to that conclusion. Good to see I'm not alone.
+1rl1yl "The product of rape" says it all
Could also be like a baby willing to die as part of its mothers abortion. 'The product of rape'.
+1rl1yl I always thought it went that birth is death for a fetus, or something like that, but this interpretation makes a bit more sense, I suppose.
My interpretation is that it's a child that the mother tries to abort, but fails. 'This won't be over so soon, you'll claw yourself out of the womb.' Then the child grows resented, hated, and feared
So I was just thinking, wouldn't it be so cool if after digital haunt was actually finished if there was, like an anime for it like Mekakucity Actors (probably not gonna happen just throwing it out there)
Isn't it "Can the ego you've sculpted"
When Gehenna came up, it's funny how I immediately thought of Blue Exorcist. Also technically in Blue Exorcist Rin and Yuko were accidents so yay children not supposed to be born...just like me (jk)
I know and understand for a fact this isn't based on/inspired by an anime, like the rest of Underline, but I understand how you feel. I personally feel the the chorus can relate to the main protagonist of Super Dangan Ronpa 2, if you are familiar with his spoilerrific backstory. To an extent anyway.
+TheLightningSlasher I thought Blue Exorcist too
Has anyone ever read "The Books Of Umber"? Because this reminds me of that series a lot.
I personally think this song is about some one who was in a war but was hurt in some away so the army gave him an alternate body (like the metal man in FMA) that's why their asking if he wants to die to be recreated in an other form. But it goes wrong and he's looked at in fear and hate. So he runs away seeking help and he realised he's the product of some mad idea so he gives his live so that he can get revenge or help people.
So basically the plot of Robocop?
And the name you're looking for is Alphonse Elric.
It's about a woman who was raped, getting an abortion because she ended up pregnant. Sparkles* is singing to the unborn child.
Has anyone thought that there's an order in what the 2 EP's and the album go in for us to crack the digital haunt thing here's what I think the order is
All the lights in the sky ( the sky )
Black line ( the ground )
Underline ( underground )
Also my theory is that the songs in underline each represent a stage of love and when in are you listening it references the lights in the sky is telling us to go back to songs like cassandra (pt2) what are about some form of a relationship to look for clues.
maybe sparkles* wants to protect cassandra because he cares about her maybe even loves her.....? And that's maybe why he woke her in system start
Is it not solipsistic sentence *you'll* face? (Apologies if that's spelt wrong.)
@Lily Chambers fixed. Sorry haven't been around lately. This were the lyrics that were on the wikia when it came out.
@The Eleventh Cassette I just thought it sounded different, friend :) Anyway, glad to see you're back in action.
I think this may be based on blue exorcist
I truly love this song so much.
Why does this remind me of Zero from Vampire Knight?
I think this song is about Sparkles letting go of Ghost Cassette. "Are you willing to die to be born in the spotlight" Are you willing to let go of the past to continue on to the future. I think this is his final proper send off of Ghost Cassette.
The hesitation of the percussion break at the beginning is a perfect allusion of not wanting to live... It's a weird thing... It may have meant nothing but the lack of percussion at 0:20 with full hesitation makes me feel the whole feeling of the song.
I really want to cry at this song, it's soooo good !!!
2:42 Isn't it "To be more than they say you are"?
You're right, that makes a lot more sense.
@Zombie Energy it makes more sense, but those are the lyrics. :P
I thought it was that too but then I realised the song is about a woman being raped, ending up pregnant and having an abortion. Soooo, it makes sense both ways...
I gotta say, I didnt like this song at first but it really grew on me.
+zeroangelmk1 That seems to be the case with all of A11's music for me. At first, I felt they were a bit pretentious and overly edgy, then I listened to their songs for a little bit and thought 'hey this isn't actually all that bad,' then it went to 'I can't live without ATLITS now!' and then the cycle repeated with Homunculus, Are You Listening and Versus as well.
What a song my favourite by a mile wow sparkles has a great voice
Does Sparkles* sing this one bcos it doesn't sound like him
... Gehenna is commonly used in the anime Blue Exorcist, as well as the facts that the main character of Blue Exorcist constantly risks his life to protect his friends. (it's also really good)
It's also a Jewish term
@Redsnapper399 For what?
@TheLightningSlasher its a valley near jerusalem that is viewed as a hell on earth, because it was where people were made burnt sacrifices to moloch
@ivegothoneypants Oh...wow.
@TheLightningSlasher Yeah, not the happiest of places
I get the feeling that all of the area 11 songs (and maybe the ghost cassette ones too) are all interconnected and the fact that they're based on anime is just to deceive us. The part where the play the Cassandra pt2 lyrics underneath this song and the IV/fetus thing. There is the lists of references to other A11 songs on digital haunt and maybe they're all connected somehow, and the link that connects them all is Cassandra. I would love to try and make the connections myself but I'm not the best at thinking like that so I would probably fail. Anyway I probably just accidentally plagurised someone else's theory so apologies in advance. Also sorry for writing a huge paragraph.
@Henry Humphreys Yes she does
Please ignore my major brain fart, I was really tired and I just can't think straight sometimes. I already knew all of this for some time, my brain just... Derped! Sorry!!!
@Erin Hardie
everyone derps sometimes, no need to apologize.
Ever been to the digital haunt wiki? Its where we fans collect theories, lyrics and stuff.
if your talking abou digital haunt anything with anime links is not linked to the whole story, feel free to find your local nut job for more info, if you cant find one just look for tin foil hat and an area 11 shirt
ever think the eleventh cassette is cassandra.... just... throwing that out there to fuck with your minds.
"Eleventh Cassette" comes from the "11" from area 11 and the "cassette" from ghost cassette being merged together. It is because they have videos for both ghost cassette and area 11 songs
@TheUnknownAK woosh
@TheUnknownAK You must be really fun at parties.
CASSette
CASSandra.
Hm.
And the only reason they don't like modern synthesis is they didn't get a song tribute
What anime is this based on
None. Is just Sparkles* concept idea 'Digital Haunt'.
@The Eleventh Cassette Well, Sparkles* had an amazing idea.
This song kinda reminds me of ghost cassette
This song is amazing!
Thank you for posting :) Amazing song!
Definitely my favourite in the new album
Yep. Definitely. Although, In The Blind is veeery close behind on my list of faves.
@DOXXEL Gamers Agreed
Yeah, I like it better than In The Blind.
"The child of the void and the ghost in the tape" hmm
that is very true
Digital Haunt wiki. We're way ahead ;)
@*****
yeah ghost cassette is where digital haunt originated. The song "The Tape" is pretty much the origin for all of the digital haunt.
@*****
look up the Digital Haunt wiki. Digital Haunt is essentially a hidden story in area 11 songs that is hidden amongst the song lyrics. It was confirmed as being a real thing by Sparkles* and will lead to some kind of story eventually.
@*****
yeah ive edited it now, i meant to say "this is where digital haunt originated"
I get the slight feeling that some of the lyrics are based on the second Sword Art Online story arc. Alfiem Online.
Sparkles* said is not based on an anime.
i think its about blue exorcist because of the reference to Gehenna. im pretty sure thats Japanese for hell and they use it in the English dub as well.
@theoncomingchicken
as i said before, Sparkles* said is not based on an anime.
I would hope that Sparkles* taste in anime is better than that...
thank you.
