Still sounds as shit as ever. I remember when me and my mates watched yogs(who all turned out to be either paedos or super bad people) And they promoted the shit out of this shit ass band. Like the influence of yogs on us made us like everything. The vocals on this shit are still terrible the singer who if i remember correctly is sparkles and he really has no fucking clue of how to sing and sounds like a dying animal.

Not here for the Yogscast memories anymore, I'm here for the amazing music that everyone needs to hear

Just saying, Lyrical Genius once again from this amazing band. Evidence...

I can't reason why, but somehow this seemingly throwaway line resonated with me. Maybe its the desperation I felt in the tone of his voice, maybe its the fact that it gets my brain going trying to think of its meaning. I dont know really.

Is he actually speaking to Stones? Or Stoners? Or just people who are stubborn (unmoveable like rock)? Or people who wont talk to him (because stones dont talk)? Is it a metaphor for feeling nothing but apathy or lacking the inspiration to create things? Is it a metaphor for relationships that lack communication? Is it a metaphor for drug abuse, or loveless marriages, or a government that doesn't listen to the people, or a faceless corporation, or a god who doesn't answer prayers?

One line and yet so many possible interpretations. I haven't been in a while, is digital haunt wiki still going?

This is amazing, it has this almost haunting quality to it. It sort of sounds like a cry of frustration and the lyrics are as profound as ever. I loved the old Area 11 but I love the new Area 11 even more. KEEP THIS UP, YOU GUYS ARE FUCKING BEASTS!

I've gotta say, not a fan of this song. I mean i'll listen to this a couple more times and i'll enjoy it, but right now the song feels... underwhelming. The chorus feels like a build up to a chorus, when it first ended I was thinking "here it comes", and nothing.
I really wish that the next songs they do are a bit harder. Maybe like the random bit at the end in EGAP, or something akin to Modern Synthesis.

After all these years your music is still amazing. Also if there music is still about anime would someone be kind enough to tell me what is this one about.

Wow, I used to listen to you guys alot when I was younger. I listen to it now and it's still pretty damn good despite my taste changing to more metal. This singer is one of the few males that can sing high and still be good. Good job!

I think Area 11 should have kept leaning on its original anime aesthetic. There was a real charm in how cheesy, yet serious the songs would come across due to their loose inspirations and Sparkles's vocals were perfect for it. They've had a lot of good instrumental output since ATLITS, but this band has suffered overall as they've tried to move away from their roots. Just my opinion.

Modern Synthesis was ace and sparkles*' voice is really unique and enjoyable.
I feel that their returning to synthy stuff is bringing something unique back in, but they definitely haven't stopped improving at all.

@Brooklynae The lyrics have improved massively as well. They have more lyrical freedom now as they don't have to rely on references to animes.

I get excited to see whenever area 11 releases a new song, but I am very quickly let down. It's sad to be one of those fans who will always prefer the older stuff and finds it harder to listen to the new
but I'm still happy to say it's enjoyable, it sounds a lot more inspired and professional than the old obviously anime-inspires stuff

Again and again, when A11 releases a new song/album and it's in a somewhat different style than what I'm used to, the first time I hear it I'll dislike it.
The second time, I'll still dislike it, but slightly less so.
The third time, it'll come by on a playlist somewhere and I catch myself bopping my head to it.
And by the fourth time, I love it to bits and can't get enough.
That's how it went, from the moment I first heard 'em, back when they'd just released Blackline and the Yogs played Euphemia on a stream I thought "what the hell is this his voice sounds like arse." Then it happened again with Dream & Reality when they released AtLitS, and again with Hommunculus, and again with GO!, and In the Blind, and After the Flags, and so on and now with this one I just reached that "love it" threshold.
I'm not really sure why I'm spouting this, it doesn't even have all that much to do with your comment, but I just needed to share it because it's interesting and funny to me. But yeah, A11's been my favourite band for years now because of/despite that.

They defiantly grow on you. All your friends/New Magiks still has to be my favorite singularity songs.

With this song in particular I really didn't like it (mainly the vocal style), but I went back to it when I saw it in my recommended feed and I got a new appreciation for it. I now like the vocal style paired with the bass and synth. Curious what they do next with the ep.

Not going to lie, I'm not a big fan of this - which sucks because I love a lot of A11's music. To me, this kind of feels like it doesn't really go anywhere? I'm not into ballads at all, and this song is quite ballad-y, so that's probably it. But in any case, I think I'll just stick with ATLITS, Underline, and MS. I haven't really enjoyed any of the songs since AYF/NM, they just seem to lack something that the older ones had. I'm sorry to be the voice of negativity here, but it seems like the rest of the comments are all incredibly positive and that's not the viewpoint I share. I'll keep listening to the new songs in the hope that I enjoy the other ones better.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm really hoping for some good stuff soon. Like, it just feels like with the new music they are trying a lot of different stuff to see what fits, and that's fine. I just can't wait until they figure out what they want to do, because when they do I imagine they will start trying to push the limits with that type of music and start giving us more music with some powerful energy like what we saw in their previous stuff. This new stuff just feels empty and not very exciting.

Blackline and Underline are my favorites by a mile, but it's still quality music here. As far as ballads go, it's definitely better than Shi No Barado...

@Brendan Lock i think youve hit a bullseye there. Personally im with the majority over all( i agree with all of you that these new singles dont hold a candle next to the albums, but theyre still at least 7/10 for me) when ayf/nm i was like woah this isnt the same music then everybody gets a piece came out and it was different from those two, now curtain faill is different from those three. I think we as a base were used to the themes they had with atlis and ms. Im not a music buff but i dont think its normal for a band to shift styles this frequently so maybe its that shifting that leaves everyone here a little meh. Our boys know how to pierce the heavens so to speak lol and push the limits of their music so I'm sure once they find theyre next theme we'll all see that same fire that rocked atlis. I love curtain fall, def #1 of these new singles for me, then nm probably, followed by everybody gets a piece, and finally ayf

i gotta say, i really liked the songs in ghost cassette, with all of the Mars Volta inspiration. but even in Area 11, there's still some mars volta in there, like in Override [A]
i do like, but here, i cant see where the inspiration comes from... pop? idk

The experimentation is great but all 4 singles have been pretty conservative. I'm waiting for a Strays/Override/Processor type song that feels like a meaningful piece of art. But hopefully that's the goal of the Patreon release schedule.
