OK, why do all the Architechture in Helsinki music video's have this cutesy aesthetic but have the dark undertones? In Heart it Races, they reenact the heart-removal scene from Apocolypto; in Do the Whirlwind, the band members get eaten by a robot shark, and in this video, two kids comit double suicide. And their cute dog is now left by himself in the middle of nowhere, with no one to care for him/her. WTF?

not too sure about these two lines. Either the reason the narrator is killing himself has to do with losing a love or that he believes he'll never find love.

and the middle of the song if you look at the lyrics it seems to go into depth about what drove this person into killing himself. I would think getting his/her heart broken.

I bet this is exactly how most people feel when they end their lives... over all an amazing song and I have not seen such emotion portrayed in words.

this is obviously about a suicide. it's about the bittersweet feeling of happiness that a person feels when they finally end their pain. you can see the lyrics at the beginning show a person tired of living...

I'm pretty sure it stresses the immaturity, yet, in some ways, logical nature of teenage suicide in relation to the inability to hold a relationship, save it go against for what is intended by any authority, in this case, the father (they snuck out so the father wouldn't see them). It seems like they just wanted to take what they felt and run with it, which is beautiful, yet impossible. So they off themselves to retain what they held sacred, together, throughout eternity.

I've been to Helsinki and the buildings are very beautiful.

That's the beauty of this video, you can easily make a case for what its about and not necessarily be wrong. It could be a metaphor, it could be a suicide, it could be something totally else. I love how they leave it to where you can draw your own conclusion to it.

Did they die. The height didn't look high enough for people to die in. It did look like a good height for a good dive.

I don't think you have to see it as a sad ending. Look at their faces. I think it's deliberately left open. They've escaped, they're happy, and we don't see them die. It's sort of implied that they are about to, but it's not concrete.
