i really dont understand this "fashion" to upload the whole album, for one , anyone can listen to it and even download it as mp3. and why is there still discussions about piracy....what do you expect

I think uploading whole albums is like free advertisement.
I wouldn't blindly buy an album. I want to know what I'm about to buy before I do. So chances are higher that I buy it when it's on YouTube/Spotify etc.

If Redfield didn't upload this album, someone else would do. It would be a waste of time and money to haunt for these files. Everyone who has this album (legal or illegal) could potentially upload it somewhere. That's how the internet works

Of course there are people who would just download albums instead of buying them. But if they can't, they would still not buy it

Actually, uploading this albums seems to work very well. Everlasting is currently *#14* in the German charts and their concerts were sold out

meanwhile i am downloading this now ;) as an artist myself i would rather have 1 million people listen to my music that they downloaded rather than 10 thousand people who payed for my album

As an artist you should respect the wish and will of everybody else on the decision how to offer it (for free or to buy). So how are 1 million listeners paying your rent or a new instrument?

it's a polarized position. it will reward music that is so good people want to buy it and keep it going. this is of exceptional quality and the short term revenue is hopefully helping. when they tour australia let me know. this band is ready to go big already.

also the business model has shifted. if the music gets the band popular. the merch will become profitable. concerts too
