Antlers, The - Every Night My Teeth Are Falling Out Lyrics

One bad night I’ll hold the glass until the glass can hold me down,
And one bad night I’ll spill and spill until my feet begin to drown.
One bad night I’ll hear you calling me to help you not pass out.

You and I, divine but not devout,
Every night my teeth are falling out.

Try it, try it, try it,
Try it, try it, try it, try it,
Get your jaw off the floor.

Try it, try it, try it,
Try it, try it, try it, try it,
Get your jaw off the floor.

One dumb night I’ll make a point to take an old verboten route,
And one dumb night I’ll take you out, to the bar we’ve both blacked out.
One dumb night two bad decisions don’t divide to cancel out.

You and I, divorced but not devout,
Every night my teeth are falling out.

Every night my teeth are falling out.

Try it, try it, try it,
Try it, try it, try it, try it,
Get your jaw off the floor.

@CheckAlakaDingDong Well you are a bunch of babies if you're listing to this band it mean you're sad. Don't fool me ya big babies!

@matt Bedard I'll break it down to you, excactly why you are very, very wrong. Firstly, Hopsice, which was The Antlers' first album, was indeed a very depressing and personal album, that's true. Also, The Antlers have said themselves in an interview that they would aim for making lighter music in the future, which they have done. Secondly, both Familiars and Burst Apart tells stories more related to happiness and joy than to depression and struggle. Of course, they do have songs in those newer albums that contains sad content. This song, "Every night my teeth are falling out" Is proof that sadness does exist in their songs. Thirdly, Hospice told a very, very hard-hitting story in a very, very good and meaningful way. Therefore, judging their music for being sad is just not right, because it was meant to be, and it is just therefore so many people love The Antlers. They tell hard truths, and simple and joyful truths in a way that not only I would say is perfect work of art.
