Anthrax - Lone Justice Lyrics
There's two kinds, of people in the world
The outlaws, and the lawmen that prevail
The bounty hunter's job is on the wrong side of the law
Intentions, of the truth and nothing more
Cause the nameless one's gonna have some fun
He's gonna bring an outlaw down
Wasted, it's over quick he's nailed 'em three for three
Then he with his squint-eyed grin and stubbled chin
He rides through history
The jury, in his mind the choices weigh
The trials, if you're gulity you're his prey
No judgement otherwise can change the lust
That's in his eyes
The sentence, will be carried out in stride
No name, like a shadow on a moonless night
Real game, He'll be there to uphold
Justice, law and order
And you'll pay, the highest fee
When the gunslinger takes his piece
The money, it's the price you have to pay
When he calls, drop your eyes and look away
The man has taken life to balance scales of wrong and right
Existence, each day a moral fight.

Anthrax Lone Justice Comments
i had this on cassette when i was a kid
shit is dope
the second album
I'm a little ignorant of metal.. But this is just what I imagine when I think of the word METAL
Scott & Hetfield & Later Bobby Gustofson shaped that guitar sound that is just incredible ...... And Gustefson does NOT get enough credit for His contribution tothe metal world imo. He took that metal crunch to a new level on Drunken Wisdom
This is one of those "Endurance" songs - along with "And Justice for All" and "A skeleton in the closet" these songs should be
as boring as hell - but for some reason they're great and for me the most memorably of tunes!
I Love This Song! My Dad Listens To It On His Radio In His Truck!
https://www.facebook.com/Monsters-Of-Heavy-Metal-Magazine-292986980715949/
I wish the guitar were louder
Today's so called music wouldn't have a prayer..Lol
No some of today's metal is good but only the underground stuff
Amazing bass playing!
so fkn gnarley
JUSTICE, LAW AND ORDER!!!!
🔫😎🇺🇸
JUSTICE LAW and ORRIIIDOOOOOR! You nailed it my friend.
BEST bass line ever! Honestly. And Riff is AWESOME! Vocals are fantastic.
Why are Anthrax so overlooked? :(
My religion sinse 2008
They're a WAY better band than slayer.

Judge Dredd.
my new love omg
Tierparkfest is am start hier! :-)*drogen*
Call me a cunt, but among the living was a better album.
Also persistence of time is a bog competetor aswell.
I'm going to be like everyone here, and say this song sounds like Anthrax
Fucking brutal intro by Frank Bello!
Stephen King's Gunslinger?
I always thought so..... quite a few oh their songs are inspired by Stephen King
That intro tho...
My favorite anthrax song
My favorite
A fucking Greed
Mine too;)
An incredibly underrated one too.
You all must be around 54 years of age
This record is great.
KimChi Preso their best IMO
Their absolute best
@Christopher Kliagel One of me favs and Among the Living ❤🤘
When you main McCree in Overwatch.
IT'S HIGHHHH NOOOOOOONN
This sounds like S.O.D a little
Scott and Charlie played on those records, so yeah \m/
holier then thou sounds like this... this was out like 5yrs b4 the black album
eric cockerson imagine that. Metallica ripping off another band. Color me shocked. Theyre bums
intro sounds like a riff from Holier Than Thou from Metallica. Still an amazing song!
+Garrett Pacatte lone justice 1985 , Holier Than Thou 1991
@juan rivera Again, not saying they stole it. Its obvious they didn't. I'm just saying they sound similar
+Garrett Pacatte I suppose this all happened because of the "still" in your original comment. That word is what makes it sound like the similarity in sound deducts points from Lone Justice. Oh well. :P
@Clener74 The "still an amazing song" was refering to holier than thou.
Holier Than Thou's riff SOUNDS LIKE Lone Justice's Intro.
Sounds like NWOBHM like Diamond Head and Iron Maiden.
dont know why but reminds DOOM xd
One of their Top 5 from their arsenal.
+Gore Elohim
My personal fav !
My favorite Song this album
Gargos' Theme
Sounds like a judas priest song
+Dave Tarone its also got some iron maiden in it imho
Sounds like Anthrax.
Well Anthrax were definitely heavily inspired by Judas Priest and NWoBHM bands, especially with Joey's vocals and especially on their first few albums.
I dont see why that is a bad thing
Sounds like metal all of it and fight for the metal... Brainwash your children pull out your guitars hand them over to the kids and make them Rock again I can't take not having my metal anymore!
muy buena cancion
Jajajaja que haces aqui compañero
One of the best bass line intros in music (outside funk!), this song is imho the best thing Anthrax, an underrated band, ever did. It's just relentlessly in your face GOOD.
The Unofficial Theme to Red Dead Redemption.
Strangely, I discovered you could play custom soundtracks on the PS3 version with this song 😳
TheNaturalPatHarris No, that song is Exodus's 'Faster than you'll ever live to be'. This song comes a close second though
I think of Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead every time I listen to this song. Fuck yes!!!
Another Anthrax song glorifying law enforcement.
More like talking about old west bounty hunters, specifically Clint Eastwood's character but whatever we all have the right to make scant correlations over something and then get completely pissy over it.
What's wrong praising Law Enforcement
@TheNaturalPatHarris Lots of things...
@CaptainFordo21 Don't listen to it then and go fuck yourself.
It's based on a Stephen King book you dummy
One of Anthrax's best songs!
Their good but i wish they where faster. I think its because I'm use to fast stuff so this is a little slow...
try with gun-ho, thats a faster one xD
+mariano martin Imitation of Life is pretty damn fast too.
+mariano martin Maybe "Imitation Of Life"?
lol...get a time machine and go back to 1985, when there wasn't much to compare it to.
a true thrax classic \M/ METAL IS THE LAW !!!
Does that mean its okay to Steel? or perhaps Rob idium(poor idium)? And those who dont obey the metal command, should we Cesium? And in case they resist arrest i guess we could just kill em' all and Barium.
Metal should be the law
I saw Anthrax back in 1987 (88?) at Hammersmith Odeon, as it was then. 'A Night At The Madhouse' with Metal Church and Crimson Glory. They were better live than they were on this album and that took some doing. Never could understand why Metallica went through the sky and Anthrax dropped away... But such is life.
damn i love this song
Nick R 🤘
i fucking love the chorus of this song.
What a chorus!!! Justice!!! Laww and orrrrrderrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
I used to sing this at the top of my lungs in my bedroom back in 7th grade in '88 pretending that I was playing in front of a packed arena. Damn, that's when I thought I could conquer the whole fucking world.
Belladona's vocals just kick ass!
Excelente vocal!
Yeah, he was pretty good
neil turbin was good too!
oh fuck yeah
Hey everyone, we are three 17 year old high school students in the Austin tx based thrash/speed band, Iconoclasm. We've just made our YouTube channel and would much appreciate it if you'd click on this profile and check out a video. Thanks!
I've just checked your channel, and you guys do great work :D ! Keep rocking dudes ;) ( +1 subscriber)
I haent looked yet - but the fact that you advertise HERE, and that ur thrash and speed metal, win you respect. Ill check yall later
FUCKING ICONOCLASM YOU GUYS SHRED
Awesome !!!
The lyrics are about Roland Deschain, the main character of a Stephen King book called "The Gunslinger"
Oh okay, I thought it was about Clint Eastwood.
@Mr. Nelson89 Haha
Necro, but it seems to me that the 'squint-eyed grin' is a nod to Clint
The lyrics are in favor of the police or against?
It is not about police. Its about an old western time bounty hunter.
Wrong it's based on a Stephen King book/character ...come on guys
I love how anthrax is so different from all the other bands, so heavy/thrashy!! I love this album its probably the best they made. Like the dude from the top comment said, Anthrax is not your average thrash metal band, there's a lot more than thrash in them.
Anthrax were way ahead of their time. Great band
if he meant the most melodious thrash metal band of the big 4 (and only in vocals) then he is right. but in other terms anthrax is not the most melodious of the big 4 and not from all thrash metal bands.
he meant he liked anthrax more then the rest of the big 4.
I know many. Still Anthrax is the best.
I`ll never understand why ppl always debate what style of music a band is or which singer/drummer or whatever was best>You either like the video/song that's posted or you don't.Who cares what style they are.I for one love the band and, also saw them live in the mid-90`s and the were fucking amazing. So,thrash or not I don't give a shit I just love their music.
best song they ever made
Roland Deschain is the man, Anthrax recognized this and crafted this awesome song to show it. . . . that is all
Wtf do you know about "real anthrax?" Scotty Ian would smack you in the mouth for saying they're not classic thrash. They invented the fucking word thrash you dumbshit. Just go ahead and smack yourself for not knowing wtf you're talking about. Leave the trash metal for those of us that were there to enjoy it from the start. You lamer come lately's are such posers. You don't know shit wiki didn't tell you.
I can't get enough of that intro. It's fucking sick!!!!!
Tom Ato yeah, too bad the rest of the song isn't like that. Song still kicks ass!
Crunchy!
Dude Among The Living wasn't Heavy/Thrash, that album was pure thrash.
Just caught the show in Denver & had photos taken w/ the band !
Peterfaj, you shouldn`t use words like "cognitive" and "limitation".......or "was" because I highly doubt drunkcrustpunk would be able to understand them. on another note,i saw Anthrax live in Scotland around 1992 an they fucking rocked!!
Have you ever heard Finale, Gung Ho, Among The Living (song) Caught In A Mosh, Imitation Of LIfe and Discharge? those are Anthrax uptempo-end-of-the-album-thrashers (except Among The Living and Caught In A Mosh), hear them, if you don't like them then you don't like Anthrax, but let me tell you, those are really awesome songs, pure heavy and fast Thrash right there.
Well Anthrax is not still popular. Maybe in thrash circles but not anywhere else..
Joey at his best here..! \m/
when you find a better vocalist than Joey Belladonna and another band that have such musicality, then you tell me, ok ?
love the bass fills and backing vocals for this
Alright, i see your point.
I didn't say I don't like them because they're popular. I don't like them because they bore me. I've never even made it through a full album by them without giving up after a few songs.
What the fuck are you talking about? This album is awesome, and yes the band has become popular over the years, but that doesn't mean the band is garbage, you know.
I'm a Megadeth blood fan, I don't like metal, but there's no day I don't listen Megadeth. I recently bought the Big Four Live DVD, and I watched it entirely. I loved Anthrax so much that I decided I would get some of their music, so I bought Spreading the Disease... AND IT'S FUCKING AWESOME. (Still, not better than Megadeth, but it's FUCKING AWESOME), and so begins my quest for their entire CD and DVD discography.
This song sucks. This album sucks. This band sucks. I really don't understand why Anthrax is so popular. And this is coming from someone who loves thrash metal.
This song is really good and I love it, probably my favorite from this album
Their first album kicks ass, especially the song death rider, which is 100 % speed/thrash metal.
And hey, I respect Anthrax but most of their songs aren't my cup of tea, Exodus' toxic waltz has a similar rythm as this song, but I find it 10 times better, just a matter of taste I guess. I dont feel the need to discover music like classical rock etc, cause thrash has so much to offer and i never get tired of it
This is fast, energetic music...and is considered thrash metal. Maybe not as brutal as Megadeth or Exodus but if you think this isn't fast you must ONLY listen to fast music....ever listen to classic rock, classical or jazz? This stuff is fast in the grand scheme of things. Broaden your horizons a little bit dude. I mean that in an encouraging way :)
I mean, vocally...none of their stuff really sounds thrash(besides the gang vocals) but just listen to the whole "Among the Living" album....all those riffs are thrash. I agree with the other dude though. It doesn't matter if it's thrash, Anthrax is good tunes. Appreciate it for what it is. There's no other band like these guys :)
well, I dont know, to me its not thrash-esque, but maybe back then, thats what was considered thrash, nevertheless, I still like anthrax.
nah, why would I? I don't like all music that is fast, that would be ridiculous, im just saying two basic characteristics of thrash that I like are energy and speed.. that, and so much more that dragonforce doesn't have
So I take it you love Dragonforce lmao
for me personally, this isn't good music, because it doesn't have the energy and speed that thrash has
Doesn't matter what Genre it is man, good music is good music.
I just cant seem to get in Anthrax, just doesn't sound like thrash to me, anyone can advice some songs of them that are really thrash?
agreed.
WOOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOO
a kick-ass song
one of the best oldschool all the way!
i love this fuckin band
Haha know how you feel. Good movies. clint eastwood rules haha, so does anthrax!!!!!!
Fave Anthrax Tape well cd now woohoo \m/. !!! Go Charlie's and Ian !!!
THIS SONG IS THE FUCKING JAM BEST SONG ON THE CD
Lol yeah it sort of does if you were to really think about it.
I now have a sudden need to watch the Dollars trilogy. :)
Anthrax is my favourite thrash metal band. I love Megadeth, I like Slayer and Metallica, but Anthrax is the best. it's the most melodious thrash metal band.
Belladona's voice here sick!!!!
Great point. I'm a big fan of both Eastwood & Stephen King. I think of "High Plains Drifter" when I hear this but it's very suited for Roland as well.
looks like the guy being pinned down has a pussy
