I love Anthem Lights but I think this song can be a little confusing. Just because we experience a feeling or a thought doesn't mean that feeling or thought is us. I’m telling you, if you are bothered by the feeling or the thought then that is a dead giveaway that it isn't you. It's outside trying to get in. It’s just a familiar spirit. Don't sell out your identity to that stuff and say it's you. You were bought at a much higher price. Instead, ignore the thought or impulse and declare in faith, "thank you God for making me a brand new creation! Thank you that I am righteous in your sight and that you love to live inside of me! Father I lay down selfish desires at your feet and I declare this is not who you made me to be nor who I am. This is how man became when he listened to another voice. Thank you for setting me free and snatching me out of the darkness and into the light as you are in the light! Thank you for giving me brand new perspective, mindset, and outlook on life. Thank you that I am free because you have set me free! God, nothing can separate me from your love! etc, etc, etc". Just go ballistic in fellowship with Jesus. I promise you, when those things come they won't know what to do if you respond like that. They’re used to Christians dragging their feet for 3 days and calling for prayer because they “still have these feelings”. You don’t need deliverance, (Colossians 1) He HAS delivered you! We just need to start believing it.

Jesus saved us once and for all, but we still struggle with sin, that's part of mankind's curse. We ARE saved, but we are still sinners, who need to call on our savior daily. Thanks for your post!!
