Animals, The - Rock Me Baby Lyrics

Rock me baby, rock me all night long
Rock me baby, honey, rock me all night long
I want you to rock me baby,
like my back ain't got no bone

Roll me baby, like you roll a wagon wheel
I want you to roll me baby,
like you roll a wagon wheel
Want you to roll me baby,
you don't know how it makes me feel

Rock me baby, honey, rock me slow
Yeah, rock me pretty baby, baby rock me slow
Want you to rock me baby, till I want no more

Go to the Kennedy Center Honors homepage & submit Eric's name to be an honoree. He's not eligible this year as artists have already been chosen, but submit his name & maybe in the near future he'll be considered. Submit his name as many times as you like, and even give a description on why you think he is worthy for consideration. I have submitted his name every day for over a month & will continue to do so, because I think he should be honored. He made an impact on the music scene & he is worthy of consideration.

  24. P.... B....

  25. A.... T....

The animals they did it the blues way they were Blues Man

  26. P.... S....

Yep, Eric was the ultimate fanny magnet (that means cunt, not arse, in English for our US friends). Brilliant voice!!!

  27. J.... L....

Animalism was perhaps their finest album, their earlier material was very good, always rockin'/bluesy and shows how much they progressed to this point, despite personnel changes. Animalization was very good too, but Animalism, WOW. They covered blues and R&B standards in a manner of pure polished grit not just covering the songs but re-inventing them. No one (no white man) every sang and poured out as much energy and emotion as Eric Burdon. "Rock Me Baby" - there are a lot of superior renditions of the song, none like this. "Smokestack Lightning" is scary good, bass guitar, vocals, lead guitar, keys; amazing. "Going Down Slow"; Eric doesn't just sing it, he lives it. Ever hear a version of "Louisiana Blues" like this? "Lucille" - channeling the heart and soul of Little Richard. Ditto with Same Cooke's "Shake". "Hey Gyp" a two chord vamp pleading to your lover. "Hit the Road Jack" so bluesy and dark, blisteringly removing any polish from a song Ray Charles made a standard. "The Other Side of this Life", more famously done by the Jefferson Airplane but this rendition is superlative. "All Night Long", what a smoking opening track; was not aware it was written by Frank Zappa (and played guitar on track 1, bass on track 3). "Outcast" and "That's All I Am to You" rock and are similar to tracks on Animalization. From an era of mind boggling good music, not to hard to surmise this is one of my favorites, from one of my biggest musical influences...….Pure polished grit? Is that even possible?

    J.... L....

i could not have said it better. What Eric and his boys command, you have to go...like "hypnosis and desire" invented a new word!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are so missed Eric and i still listen faithfully, just as i'm doing now, Doing my online daily stuff but sprinkled with that... "got to have you in my ear and lips Eric" like my back ain't got no bone! Love jazz. (a major influence and a life saver for me since 1965 to now 2018)

    J.... L....

    A fantastic . performance, from everybody.🎶🎶🎶🎶🎸🌹🎶🎶🎶🎸

  28. J.... E....

New bands don't even come close to The Animals.

    J.... E....

  29. S.... P....

  30. R.... R....

I just know Eric is a Fire Lover....

  31. R.... C....

    his eyes wow!

  32. K.... P....

Damn..why was I born too late!! I want him every which way...❤️

  33. C.... F....

put this in 1.25 speed, thanks me later..

  34. g.... w....

Great stuff from the boys from Newcastle.  No disrespect from the master (B.B. King) but I do prefer this version., I bought the LP back in 1966 and it's still a treasure in my books.   This is not just another  insipid cover version. Eric and the boys make this one their own.  I would have preferred Alan Price on organ as opposed to DaveRowberry  but I guess I'm just another  old fart purist who has to complain.........Good show gentlemen....

    g.... w....

When the Animals did a cover, they usually blew the original artist out of the water. I don't see any difference between Price and Roweberry on the keyboard. The only song Price ever did where I feel he was exceptional is "Almost Grown".

  35. V.... S....

    Great music..

  36. S.... I....

I am just blown away by Eric Burdon as he always sings with such emotion. Guitar solo is great too in this song. Very good musicians.

    S.... I....

Greatest band of all time imo. Although I grudgingly concede the Rolling Stones are co-champions.

    S.... I....

    It is perfect so muchhh....

    S.... I....

robert holden No, The Beatlea were and still are the best band ever, The Animals were good bur they barely wrote any of their material, the Rolling stones were probably the secomd best band ever followed by Queen, though they did copy a lot from the Beatles , and that stops them fr om being equal to them.

    S.... I....

A band isn´t better because they write their own songs!!! There can be so many other reasons.

  37. H.... G....

100% agreed! I was born too late. Love this guy!

    H.... G....

    He still performs occasionally.

    H.... G....

    @Atomic Lobotomy
    I'd love to see him!

  38. C.... D....

That was ... powerful and flawless ... I do not think this could have ever been done more perfectly!!!!
It is difficult to find such a perfect combination of amazing, real talent and true alpha male sex appeal. What a man!!!!

    C.... D....

  46. k.... r....

No one today can touch The Animals. Eric Burdon had one of the most iconic voices then and even today.

    k.... r....

The Animals are my favorite and I regard Burdon the greatest rock singer of all time. Yeah, by today's standards, the Animals are pretty much untouchable.

    k.... r....

robert holden and blues anything really lol

  47. a.... ....

  61. R.... ....

I hate it when you're about to sleep, then something says 'hey, you liked house of the rising sun, try another song'. Then you're here, an hour later, wishing you didn't have to sleep and deprive yourself of such brilliance. My eyes will hurt like a bitch when I wake up from my hour's sleep

    R.... ....

    Made me giggle x

ESTAS VISITANDO EN "TU TUBO" EL MEJOR GRUPO DE LA 1ª MITAD DE LOS 60 (SI NO CONTAMOS CON LOS BEATLES-ROLLING). UN ERIC BURDON PEQUEÑO PERO MATON QUE CANTABA IGUAL QUE UN NEGRO y QUE LLAMABA A SU IDOLO RAY CHARLES "EL ELVIS NEGRO". DE LO MEJOR DE LA INVASION INGLESA. POR OTRA PARTE, A VER SI ME SABES DECIR CUAL FUÉ EL GRUPO DE DICHA INVASION (SIN SER LOS BEATLES) QUE MAS ÉXITO TUVO EN AMERICA (en $). ESPERO RESPUESTA.
