thewhatness I think that is part of the problem of the album. This song slapped and you know this band is capable of a good album but they just didn’t deliver imo. I was disappointed with after mpp. But songs like honeycomb remind you they can make a tight album. I love strawberry jam. Idk ac seemed to fizzle out for me

I don't see why this song+video is being hated on?

The video is pleasing, the sound takes really abstract noise and makes sense of it with all these melodies and visually charged lyrics. Yeah, it looks weird. But it's supposed to be an entertaining form of art. It's easy to make someone feel odly relaxed by picturing a bunch of mountainous lanscapes and sing-songs. But they do it completely differently. They are musical innovators. All the people hating it just aren't used to noisy music.

animal collective/avey tare is extremely experimental. if people are hating on this they would probably shit themselves when listening to their older stuff

I love this video, we don't always see the boys singing in them, so I like that we can see the strong emotions linked to it in Avey's eyes. Their wideo I dislike the most is Appleauce, way too simple for the song it was made for.

Lord, have mercy. Nope, I don't believe I have heard those songs. Okay, okay. I do appreciate it when artists have the courage to experiment. I guess that this song just goes so far out of the boundaries of what I have gotten used to and consider "good music" that it just sounds.....disagreeable. All great artists experiment, but not all experimenters are great artists. But, it also comes down to personal taste. Nicki minaj and that traitorous sellout, David guetta, produced the earsore/hit song "hey mama" that has garnered millions of hits, while armin van buuren's "tuvan", voted number one out of top 1,000 trance songs, has been seen on youtube a mere fraction of that. I don't get it...

This is a great song and video!

Let's be clear.  It is the actual notes that make Animal Collective great.  The fact is that Animal Collective has always been able to string together really fantastic melodies.  The electronica is a separate but also well made component.  Tune is everything.  Form is bonus.       

Love this song but Avey fucking ruins it at the end. In a bad way.

I dont get the hate.. its all original and pleasing to the eye. Not like looking at some beautiful landscape.. but their videos just blow up color and insane imagery that really gets my brain working in so many areas.


I think their videos fit perfectly with their music. Its like a rollercoaster for your mind. Well at least this track and certain albums. Every album is so different I love it. Sung Tungs is one of my favorite long drive albums
